9th-May-2016 11:50 pm - A Player Plot that needs you!
metalicarus: (Mr. Confident)
Hello, Games players! We have a plot brewing on the horizon and we need your help!

First: the plot involves a plan on behalf of Albert and Jet to blow up the empty Tribute Tower in the Capitol. For this, we need your vote. Would you like to see the tower blown up or would you like to see it spared and the plan foiled before the fireworks so it could be used later for whatever anyone might want? Please go to this handy post here and cast your vote!

Second: we need sign ups! This plot might be planned by Jet and Albert, but they’ve been ICly reaching out to all kinds of people, pro-Capitol and pro-Rebellion for the last several months and these are the kinds of people we need.

There are four groups of sign ups we need people for:
1) Those going to the tower to set up the bombs and potentially set them off

2) Those who are at least perceived to be pro-Capitol to escort the detained offworlders from the detainment center to the tower for their little ‘field trip’

3) Someone with some computer skill to break into a technology center and distribute the secrets to D13 that this explosion is covering for, and anyone to accompany them

4) People to steal and then store explosives during the upcoming 4th wall plot!

This last one is optional and can be handwaved if no one is interested, but we need at least one person in each of the other groups. This is also a bit of a freebie to cause some mayhem, since Albert and Jet intend to take the blame entirely, so unless you explicitly want your character to suffer some sort of consequence, that’s on us.

ICly, this plot won’t happen until much later in May and will come with three posts: one for the tower and placing the bombs, one for the technology center and an interactive thread for breaking through its security, and one with the results of the plot broadcast to D13 and the Capitol itself.

If you have any questions, ask them here!

First: I've decided to drop Aragorn. I love him, but I'm trying to cut back to something more manageable, and he has the fewest plots he's entrenched in. Maybe he'll come back later, if time permits, but I can't promise anything. He'll die this week in the Arena, and won't be revived.

Second: Stephen is going to be moved from an Escort position to a regular citizen. He's losing his job.

Here is where you come in.

Is anyone interested in their character getting in trouble? Is your character angry and hotheaded but hasn't actually seen what happens when you get on the wrong side of the Capitol yet? Do you want to roleplay your character hitting Stephen Reagan's glittery, dopey face?

Do you want to get back at Cyrus Reagan?

HIT ME UP.

The idea is that if Stephen's job puts him in danger, Cyrus will essentially strongarm him into quitting. The more danger Stephen is in, the better. It doesn't have to be a Tribute (though that or a Mentor is ideal) but it does have to be someone with a connection to the Games. There WILL be IC consequences but no one's character will be made unplayable.

If you're interested, comment to this post or hit me up on plurk.

The Binding plot is almost full steam ahead. The Initiate’s informant has passed him the details of this weapon, and now thanks to Tony’s providing a speaker stand and the Psiioniic’s distractions, the team is in the know. From the secret Network post, collectors will three IC days of gathering, and for everyone else, three days to prepare for the fight. On that third day, the groups will set out, the leader-led seeking blindspots and others heading straight into their positions as passive distractions, seeing to it that the Capitol is paying attention to them and nothing else. Stylists will begin their work disguising those breaking-in, making sure they’re unrecognisable to any cameras still rolling around the weapons’ construction and storage facility. Those leaders staying behind will make sure the team is set and ready to fight, going over any last minute issue or advice. After that, the In-fight leaders will take their teams onward to the facility.

The fight may start early for some. For others, they may pass undetected. Whichever the case, eventually everyone’s inside with a job to attend to. You may not all be engineers, but there’s no time for waiting around. Dismantling as many weapons as possible is top priority. One way or another, the cores have to be destroyed.

Time runs out however. While the rest of the team escapes, Active distractions will have their chance to do their part and keep the others from capture. Do they fight the peacekeepers? Start fires to block the path? Some other thing? Regardless, they will be a key part of the team’s survival. At least those who are not caught on the way out that is.

Those who make it back may need injuries patched. The capitol can’t find out they took part in a break-in after all. Stylists will need to help get those disguises removed and disguising any glaring injuries received. The team will need to get rid of all signs that they took part in this. This may include seeing to it that those who’ve not had their loved ones return are looked after.

As for those who’ve not returned? All that can be done is to wait… It shouldn’t be too long though that everyone finds out what became of them.

SPECIAL NOTE: Captain America, Steve Rogers, will be handwaved to be a part of this mission. He will be a fighter and “leader”. He will be caught during the Mission. He will NOT be released with the others, but held in confinement until the arena. No one, not even Capitolites, will be given information on his whereabouts.

Give y'all something to do while plurk is down!

This is about plots, generally. How to get involved, and a major shift in the future of the rp (in a good way.)

So the first is fairly simple. If you have an idea to get involved, just bring it to us! We try to be as open as possible, within the confines of a dystopian dictatorship under constant surveillance. Even if you only have bits of an idea, we can work on weaving them in with other plots!

When we make plots, we do try to make as many open hooks for people as possible, like the family visit exposes, but we are generally making plots for the whole game (or at least large majority.) So if you do want personal plot related to the metaplot, it is something you need to bring to us. And please do! Some awesome and surprising things come from player plots. Thought the general course of the game is set, we do have wiggle room for things to move in different ways.

AND SPEAKING OF WHICH!

We would like to introduce District 13 as an area to play.

But it is going to be a bit of a bump for a bit, and we are still working out the ins and outs of how.

But, what is generally the idea right now is that, through some mean or another, Tributes (and possible some panem citizens) will start to be smuggled out to 13.

All those smuggled out will need to have been around at least one arena, and not be openly anti-rebellion/pro-capitol. 13 needs to be sure they won't be bringing over someone who's just gonna blow their whole thing, but they also can't be super choosey, because their windows to smuggle people will be limited. You could app characters with the idea to get them over there asap, but they'd have to be in the Capitol at least for an arena.

It also means canon characters and OC living in 13 will be appable.

However it ALSO means if your character volunteers, they will be, for some (hopefully short) time, in a very limited pool of CR and RP chances for awhile, and might end up being "dormant" for a bit. We are gonna try to move people over pretty fast, but we would not suggest, when it opens up, to volunteer yours super active character you need lots of CR with.

We will also try to get some sort of network/messaging system up but it will have limits (something like snail mail, or something, we're not sure yet.)

This would not be happening for a bit yet (at least till summer, maybe longer) but we are happy to hear feedback with the information here, including if this is a direction you guys are even wanting to start in? It will not end arenas (that will not happen until a point when all out war is going down) but will hopefully open another aspect of the Hunger Games world up for people to explore.

And feel free to ask questions, though right now as this is still VERY in it's beginning stages, those questions might be "IDK."

EDIT: For those canon blind, some basic info about District 13.
