Calling Mentors and Capitolites!

We are looking for people who would be willing to have their characters stand as guest speakers in an upcoming mini event! Specifically, we need Panem born Mentors and Capitolites. Exception may be made for those who have petitioned out of the arenas and are working for the Capitol.

Capitolites will be asked to speak of the Capitol and their work there. Mentors will go a little bit into the ways of their respective District and their work as mentors prior to the quell. Both will be expected to speak in a Pro-Capitol light. One of each will be chosen at random for the spotlight (but if you are not picked this time, there will be other chances).

If you are interested in the opportunity, please fill out the following and paste in the sign-ups section:

Player name: Smurf
Character name: Peggy Carter
Position in the Capitol: Mentor
District Association: D10
Anything we should know? Peggy would be very careful to be diplomatic about her speech and pray proper respects to the Capitol. If would gloss over any difficulties within the districts or her role as a mentor by describing any troubles as simple 'setbacks', and would focus instead on the glory of Capitol and the importance of the District 10 workers to Panem.

Congratulations! Peggy Carter has been chosen to stand as June's District guest speaker in teaching the children of the Tribute Youth Programme. She will be asked to describe her District and life there, what work they do and how they help Panem and how the the Capitol and the Games helps out the districts. She will be asked to appeal to the young Tributes by any means so as to broaden their understanding.

The post for this will go up on June 15th where she will have a placeholder set for her. If you have any questions now or come Monday, feel free to ask! If there is an issue with time, let us know ASAP so we can select another candidate.

By any means?

...Is she allowed to bring a horse? A pony, at least?

Yes, She may bring a small pony.

Player name: Lisa
Character name: Black Tom Cassidy
Position in the Capitol: Officer of Tribute Supervision and Control
District Association: 10
Anything we should know? Nope! He'll probably highlight the necessity for cooperation with the officials.

Character name: Jason Compson
Position in the Capitol: D7 Escort
District Association: D7
Anything we should know? If he gets selected, prepare for A Panem History Lesson with Jason Compson, Part Two: Avoxes Aren't People.

Player name: Lexil
Character name: Linden Lockhearst
Position in the Capitol: Mentor
District Association: District 6
Anything we should know? Linden would be careful not to say anything blatantly anti-Capitol, but he has a tendency to mince words and say multiple things with a single statement (some of which could be taken poorly if his intent to say them was proven.) He's a fluent and confident speaker, and he would talk about 6 and his work as a Mentor since winning the 63rd Games as well as being several months off Morphling. He's working with the rebellion lately and will probably try to find a way to use his surface pro-Capitol speech to benefit the cause somehow (even if it's just casually raising awareness of how bad things are in the Districts in contrast with the decadence of the Capitol.)

Player name: Ammy
Character name: Quintus Falxvale
Position in the Capitol: Security coordinator of the Training Center
Anything we should know? Quintus would be happy to talk about the practical importance of his work and the necessity of a swift response against rebellion--he's a bit peeved about the way the aftermath of the Binding was handled and thinks his superiors were too forgiving, but he won't express any of that in a speech. He's well-accustomed to addressing people in a friendly, somewhat sassy, but still essentially professional manner.

Player name: Sarah
Character name: Swann Honeymead
Position in the Capitol: D8 Escort
District Association: D8
Anything we should know? Swann actually loves the Capitol, and would highlight its importance in keeping the country together, as well as illustrating how important the Games (and the Tributes) are. She knows there's some Bad Shit behind closed doors, but she pretty much pretends it isn't there.

Player name: Amry
Character name: Cyrus Reagan
Position in the Capitol: Minister of District Affairs
District Association: N/A
Anything we should know? If he's asked to describe his work, his answer will be blithe and sterile and gloss cleanly over any real unrest or idea of social inequality. He'll probably bring history into it. Cooperation between the Districts and the Capitol are his favorite talking points at the moment.

[personal profile] capitols 2015-06-09 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Congratulations! Cyrus Reagan has been chosen to stand as June's Capitolite guest speaker in teaching the children of the Tribute Youth Programme. He will be asked to describe his work, life in the Capitol, the glory of Panem, and to appeal to the young Tributes by any means so as to broaden their understanding.

The post for this will go up on June 15th where he will have a placeholder set for him. If you have any questions now or come Monday, feel free to ask!

Player name: Airdra
Character name: Torin Byrd
Position in the Capitol: Mentor
District Association: D2
Anything we should know? Torin's a pretty smooth talker when he has to be. He knows the drill with the way the media circus goes, and he's very careful to lie through his teeth talk only about how great the Games are while extolling the virtues of District 2.

[personal profile] capitols 2015-07-13 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Congratulations! Torin has been chosen to stand as July's District guest speaker in teaching the children of the Tribute Youth Programme. He will be asked to describe his District and life there, what work they do and how they help Panem and how the the Capitol and the Games helps out the districts. He will be asked to appeal to the young Tributes by any means so as to broaden their understanding.

The post for this will go up on Wednesday the 15th where He will have a placeholder set for him. If you have any questions now or come Wednesday, feel free to ask!

Player name: Dee
Character name: Albert Wesker
Position in the Capitol: Mentor/Peacekeeper
District Association: 11
Anything we should know? Wesker will play his role exactly as he's expected too. He'll speak on how his world was destroyed by those trying to take more than they'd been given. He'll talk about how accepting the Capitol can be for those who understand the importance of cooperation, using himself and his position within the Peacekeeper core as an example.

[personal profile] conifer 2015-05-05 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Player name: Hannah
Character name: Emily Finch
Position in the Capitol: Mentor
District Association: D7
Anything we should know? Emily would advocate for harmony between the Capitol and the Districts, talking specifically about District Seven and the goods it provides the Capitol in exchange for its protection. She'd stay away from anything too controversial and paint the Capitol in a positive light, while trying to prove a point about the humanity and dignity of people from the Districts too (she feels she has to make up for Jason's history of Panem 101).

Player name: Krystal
Character name: Stephen Reagan
Position in the Capitol: Escort
District Association: 6
Anything we should know? No issues with speaking! He's completely willing to do it. He would highlight how the importance of the role of Escort has changed from the old games to the new, about how it comes with its challenges (left vague, talked about lightly) but is ultimately rewarding; gosh aren't off-world Tributes cool. c:
