Thanks to the genius of the Tribute and Victor scientists and the production power of the Capitol, cures for hypermalaria, tuberculosis and typhoid fever are readily available now at no personal cost. Effective treatments will be distributed to all afflicted, who should be returned to full health within a few IC days.

Tributes and Mentors are welcome to the return to the Tribute center at any time. Avoxes are hard at work disinfecting any and every surface.

Tributes will hopefully enjoy the personalized bottles of hand sanitizer they will each by receiving, courtesy of Habilus Medical.

capitolprivilege: (and everything is fine)
First: respirators will be publicly available, lying on the bedside of Tributes who wake up from the Arena. Stephen's making sure every floor has a decent supply. They'll help you dodge the TB.

Second: the mods gave me permission to set up alternative housing for well Tributes. Therefore, Stephen has offered here to let anyone who's still healthy hang out at one of his family's houses until the disease plot is over.

THINGS TO KNOW:

1) Healthy characters only. There will be an IC screening process since Stephen bribed paid some doctors to check visitors for infection before they arrive. Go ahead and handwave this.

2) You can leave any time you want, and you're totally allowed back! You'll just have to go through that handwaved screening process again.

3) PARTIES ARE ALLOWED. Stephen won't be organizing any, but there are servants around and stocked wine cellars, not to mention sound systems. There's a gilded ballroom or two, one of which has a giant chandelier. Use it well. The grounds are fairly limited, since the property is up in the mountains, but there are fountains and little pools and paths all over the place.

4) Meals are served in the dining room three times a day, which can seat like a hundred people. If you ask, you can probably get an Avox to bring you something, but they're going to be spread a little thin, so be nice.

5) Peacekeepers are also spread thin: there will be a handful staying in the Reagan manor with you, but not enough to keep everyone out of trouble all the time.

6) There are cameras and microphones, so be careful what you say.

Finally, IF YOU ARE STAYING AT JOVE MANOR, PLEASE REPLY HERE OR TO STEPHEN'S POST.

For CR purposes as well as IC bookkeeping, I'd like to know for sure who ends up at Jove Manor and who doesn't.

Any questions can also be directed here! I'll put up a log either tonight or tomorrow with a better description of the place, and you're of course free to start your own!

Alright, guys, so this plot is moving a bit slowly and admittedly a lot of that is on me for being sluggish. That said, shit's about to heat up. So here's what I need to know and what everyone should know:

If you have a patient in the Capitol, and I haven't been periodically PMing you with their symptoms, let me know here!

If you have a scientist, please mingle and take tests from the patients and thread with other scientist characters. When your scientist examines a patient or Finnick's corpse, PM me with what tests they've taken from what character, and I'll provide you their results. You guys have a mystery to solve, and I will only allow you guys to solve it with IC knowledge (you can, however, use Google and Wikipedia and so on and assume your characters have access to more medical libraries than they know what to do with). So share information and have your characters work hard. I'll be tagging a bit with Penny, who's run blood tests.

You can also have your characters take tests from NPCs. By now, the strange sickness is affecting approximately 5% of the Capitol population and deaths are starting to rack up.

Your questions are: 1. What illness or illnesses are people coming down with? 2. How did they get sick? PM me whenever you have a hypothesis - a cure will not be found until you/your characters can piece it together.

Hi guys, life just got real crazy so I'm taking a full-blown hiatus until the 9th. Unfortunately, that means that I won't be running the Patient Zero plot much until then. Here's what the players need to know:

If you have your character signed up to get sick, once back in the Capitol, please thread with some of the already sick characters and drop the mods a PM at [personal profile] gamemakers to let us know which characters those were (so we can track the virus when I get back).

If you have your character signed up to be a scientist, please feel free to handwave that the Capitol is recruiting your character and forcing them, under threat or willingly, to perform physical examinations on patients and run any sort of tests you can think of. Please feel free to thread these out with each other and to ICly share any results you might find with other scientist characters. If your character runs a test ICly, let me know at the Gamemakers account OOCly so I can provide you the results, although that will probably not be until the 9th or later.

Please direct all questions here, to this post, so I'm 100% sure to see it even on hiatus. Thank you.

As many of you have surmised, this will be a disease plot that plays into the overarching metaplot.

Throughout the week I'll be PMing the first round of patients (all Capitol and Panem citizens, so far) with their symptoms (which will not all be the same character to character). It will be up to you to play these symptoms out, both with each other and later with the scientists studying the mysterious ailment. Other patients and NPCs will start succumbing in the weeks to come.

The "scientists" will, once they're back from the Arena if that's applicable, be enlisted by the Peacekeepers to help treat the Capitol citizens. It will be up to players to put on their thinking caps and figure out what disease or diseases is affecting the populace and the whys and hows of how it came to be. If you think you have it figured out, you should PM me and I'll tell you if you're right on the money, close, or completely out there, and we can work out the IC reveal.

If the plot ends up dragging too long without a solution, one of the mods will reveal it, but I'm pretty sure you and your characters will figure it out!

Furthermore, if you signed your character up as a scientist but they'll be in the Arena, the Gamemakers, understanding the Peacekeepers' need for off-world expertise, will start using Gamemaker traps to try and kill your character and get them back to the Capitol faster. So feel free to have your character have absolutely comedic bad luck this Arena. Currently Zoidberg, Wesker and Penny are the only scientists in the Capitol, so the first patients may be quite eager to see some fresh and friendly faces.
