For the first time, you're all about to get a taste of what the true Hunger Games are like. Since the quell began, there have been a lot of new and interesting events and showings to match that of the Capitol's new guests. But now, for the fifteenth arena of the seventy fifth quater quell, it's time to call back to the roots of the Games to remind our Tributes and us all what these Games really mean.

For the first time in the quell, all of you Tributes will be participating in the pre-arena chariot rides, hearing President Snow's speech, sitting down for the Caesar Flickerman show, and witnessing a very special surprise that may change how you view this next arena.

You will learn more about your Districts than you've gotten to thus far, and moreover, you will show how YOU as a Tribute, have come to represent your chosen District, as a person, the District's service, and the District's key trait and value. Key values are as follows:

5 ~ Power ~ Strength

11 ~ Agriculture ~ Service
12 ~ Mining ~ Obedience
You will all ride out upon matching chariots for the Tribute Parade, Panem's anthem playing loud and fans screaming louder. This is your first chance to make a statement to sponsors. Rumors have it that there will be a later voting poll where the winning District or Districts will recieve special reward. Voting will be based of a rubric of:

-Most exemplary of District
-Best Tribute performance (putting on a good show)
-Best outfit
-Best in Parade
And of course, there will be a prize not only to the Tributes but to the District itself!


Escorts, it will be your job to make sure your Tributes are appealing to Capitol audiences You will need to help them prepare for this glorious event. Mentors, you will need to use your experience to help in ways just the same, both working to get you sponsors and give you the best chance in arena. Stylists, of course, will be responsible for the outfits made and worn.

More rumors tell of a secondary voting round where individual tributes will get a chance at receiving help from a very generous sponsor, following the Caesar Interviews.

Remember this is your chance to make a statement. It can mean the difference between life and death in the arena, and also, the difference between peace... or rebellion. All the world will be watching.



[OOC: If your characters choose to rebel, there will be consequences and ripple effects that carry through the rest of the game. Escorts, Mentors, Stylists, and other staff may be at risk of torture, avoxing, or even execution. Rescue will need to be arranged unless these consequences are fine with you. Tributes may be met with these or any number of other punishments.

On the flip side, chosing to be pro-capitol or pro-rebellion now will have lasting effects on the Game's outcome.

Choose wisely. Afterall, the Games are just games. Would you like to see what a real war is?

You are getting the chance to plan early. The final decisions post will be on August 24th at which point voting will open. The voting will close August 31st for the Chariot winners. The IC parade will not be occurring until September 13th.

Interview Plotting

Escorts, Mentors, now is the time to do your stuff and shape up your team.

Stylists, you will need to figure out how to best represent your Tributes on an individual level.

Will you all be working together, or do you intend to fly solo? Will you be name dropping another Tribute like Peeta did once to Katniss, in effort to make a statement that another may need to know about? Is there anything you want to come up in your Tribute's interview specifically? This spot is for those who intend to change things up.

OKAY so in the weeks leading up to this, Swann will be working with each of the D8's individually to sculpt their interviewing skills, script as much as she can, and most importantly, teach them what to do with this opportunity. She doesn't really care about your personal opinions as long as what you say is safe and strong and makes everyone happy.

Remember: Swann has been a media personality for many years, and literally grew up with this industry in her blood. It is very wise to take her advice.

Since D8's theme is "Duty", she will be pushing for emphasis on the Games being something you're honorbound and proud to do, something that your whole life has essentially been leading up to. Again, she does not care that you don't actually believe this, and she will tell you that. This is a game and we're just trying to win, team. Everyone has their strong conversation points, and she'll want to work with those on an individual level.

I think Maxwell will still be a little lost and trying to accept everything that happened when this all starts. I think she could reach him by trying to tie it all into this sense of "duty." Even if it's not really what the Capitol's looking for, he could probably make it work by thinking about it would help his friends and avenge what he's lost.

Edit to add: And, of course, if she's helped with the amulet thing by then, he'll be more receptive to listening to her - all else aside.

Firo'll do his best to cooperate and keep his confused outbursts in private. He'd pitch the idea of comparing some stuff to his Family's rackets like protection (just like people back home pay the Camorra for protection, the Districts pay up to the Capitol). While that might have a negative connotation for the average joe where he's from, it's actually not something all that bad in his mind and he'd do his best to pitch it that way. He's not going to be wild about this, but he's up for faking it and that kind of view is what would make it easier to swallow.

Temple will be locked in a closet largely deferring to Swann and helping the Stylist with tailoring and adjustments. She'll make matching but personalized hand-embroidered handkerchiefs for each of the Tributes as a connecting image across all their costumes. While Temple isn't as comfortable as Swann with the media, she has done the interview circuit before and has been found to be quite charming and charismatic, so she'll be doing her best to encourage her Tribs and helping them fine-tune the strategies they get from Swann.

I won't be putting an open up for her, but if you would like to thread this sort of thing out I can backdate stuff to her other open log.

Luckily for Swann, Clint is a 10000% on the keep your head down train, mostly because he's used to sticking to shadows. He'll listen to all the advice she can offer and do his best to stick to it, aren't you glad you have a trained spy in your ranks??? He'd also maybe sell SHIELD as a sort of peacekeeper force, and be ok with talking about duty to his country??

idk I havent thought it out all the way. He's also basically fine with whatever clothes they shove him in so yeah that's cool.

Via Jack's last discussion with Swann, he has no issue with pretending and acting and playing up his part for the Capitol.

And while he's a pirate and they're not known for being particularly honorable, Teague was super incredibly strict about keeping to the Code. I could see them spinning that somehow, since Teague ingrained that into Jack from an early age.
