For the first time, you're all about to get a taste of what the true Hunger Games are like. Since the quell began, there have been a lot of new and interesting events and showings to match that of the Capitol's new guests. But now, for the fifteenth arena of the seventy fifth quater quell, it's time to call back to the roots of the Games to remind our Tributes and us all what these Games really mean.

For the first time in the quell, all of you Tributes will be participating in the pre-arena chariot rides, hearing President Snow's speech, sitting down for the Caesar Flickerman show, and witnessing a very special surprise that may change how you view this next arena.

You will learn more about your Districts than you've gotten to thus far, and moreover, you will show how YOU as a Tribute, have come to represent your chosen District, as a person, the District's service, and the District's key trait and value. Key values are as follows:

11 ~ Agriculture ~ Service
12 ~ Mining ~ Obedience
You will all ride out upon matching chariots for the Tribute Parade, Panem's anthem playing loud and fans screaming louder. This is your first chance to make a statement to sponsors. Rumors have it that there will be a later voting poll where the winning District or Districts will recieve special reward. Voting will be based of a rubric of:

-Most exemplary of District
-Best Tribute performance (putting on a good show)
-Best outfit
-Best in Parade
And of course, there will be a prize not only to the Tributes but to the District itself!


Escorts, it will be your job to make sure your Tributes are appealing to Capitol audiences You will need to help them prepare for this glorious event. Mentors, you will need to use your experience to help in ways just the same, both working to get you sponsors and give you the best chance in arena. Stylists, of course, will be responsible for the outfits made and worn.

More rumors tell of a secondary voting round where individual tributes will get a chance at receiving help from a very generous sponsor, following the Caesar Interviews.

Remember this is your chance to make a statement. It can mean the difference between life and death in the arena, and also, the difference between peace... or rebellion. All the world will be watching.



[OOC: If your characters choose to rebel, there will be consequences and ripple effects that carry through the rest of the game. Escorts, Mentors, Stylists, and other staff may be at risk of torture, avoxing, or even execution. Rescue will need to be arranged unless these consequences are fine with you. Tributes may be met with these or any number of other punishments.

On the flip side, chosing to be pro-capitol or pro-rebellion now will have lasting effects on the Game's outcome.

Choose wisely. Afterall, the Games are just games. Would you like to see what a real war is?

You are getting the chance to plan early. The final decisions post will be on August 24th at which point voting will open. The voting will close August 31st for the Chariot winners. The IC parade will not be occurring until September 13th.

Chariot Outfit Discussion

While each District's Stylist will get the say ICly what you Tribute wears, here is where you can discuss what matching outfits you will be wearing to best represent your District.

You will also need to decide on partners. Chariots allow partners of two. If there is an odd one left out, they will be assigned with a pair to form a chariot of three.

I had a hard time finding men's couture, that is, until I found Elvis Presley's wheat suit. I'm only half joking with this one, I may seriously do it lol. There is also the two leftmost outfits here as well as these shorts if you think less is more. South Asian fashions tend to give better (read: more glittery) results. This one has wheat patterns and this one is wheat colored. Run your searches with "sherwani" in them to get the fancy jackets.

If we can't find enough men's couture, we can double up on designs and just change up the color schemes. For example there could be a blue and a beige version of Elvis's suit. I'm sorry I haven't been able to find more extravagant outfits, like a suit made entirely of wheat. We could still do that, we just would have to describe it instead of linking a picture.

If we're going with the south asian theme, maybe she could have something like this or this. Can we have some wheat themed hair accessories, too?

I really like the idea of the flaming gift bushels, as well.

These all look great! I personally like the second outfit better. I may use the smaller crown for Psii. If you want to use the same one, we can match and partner up for the chariot race? Be aware though, Psii may be wearing a yellow version of Elvis's suit lmao. If that's not your jam, you may want to partner with someone wearing something different, in which case I can put Psii with AU Steve Rogers since he might wear the same thing.

I will go ahead and implement the accidentally-on-purpose flaming wheat bushels. ICly, no one but Psii will have any idea they are in danger of burning.

Well, if you want Psii to team up with Steve, Sayaka can team up with Daryl, since he is going the sherwani route.

It would be nice if we all had crowns though! I think the smaller, sparkly one is more in-keeping with the outfits.

Sounds good! And remember there's still the interview outfit to consider. As I recall, HG canon had them only subtly themed and more individual, so it should be easier. There are lots of gold dresses and white dresses with bits of wheat on them. Lmao I was initially so sad because I thought there would be no girls in D9, but I saw so many pretty dresses!

Chariot outfits seem to be more uniform in canon, so now that I think about it, it's probably best. Do you think Steve would look better in gold or yellow? (Psii's all kinds of weird colors, so he's going to look atrocious no matter what color he wears lol)

Thanks for the heads up on this! I'd been at a loss about what to do for the chariot thing, so this helps a lot.

Daryl would vehemently protest against anything "too revealing" (anything that leaves his scarred back exposed, basically), so those shorts are not for him lol. I love the suits you found, especially the last two jackets. I think I'm going to go with something like that for Daryl, and possibly incorporate the Commitment value in some way if I can think of anything fitting.

He is also available to either partner up with someone or be part of a trio, depending on how many D9ers we have left.

Gold is definitely an option. I'm doing gold for Psii's interview outfit! You could use your second choices for that one. I feel like the chariot outfits should follow a theme, which I think will be wheat patterns and presence of yellow/gold, but I get the impression from canon that the interview outfits can be more individual?

Aw, that dress is really nice, but it's orange and Sayaka has blue hair and it would clash quite a bit >: I was looking at that green one you found though, and there's a matching one here! It even has grain patterns, so maybe we could use that instead.

No worries! Miso has a good point about chariot outfits following a theme, so for the sake of keeping D9's a bit more coordinated, let's go with your first choice. I found a full view of it for better reference. I'll try to hunt down a sherwani that will hopefully match it well enough without overpowering it.

This shows the dress detail, it has a lot of pretty silver/copper/gold accents. I found a jacket that matches elements of the dress (I'd just handwave it being wheat-coloured instead of ivory :v), or this that even looks grain-ish if you squint. Shame I can't seem to find a jacket with a more similar design.

Interview Plotting

Escorts, Mentors, now is the time to do your stuff and shape up your team.

Stylists, you will need to figure out how to best represent your Tributes on an individual level.

Will you all be working together, or do you intend to fly solo? Will you be name dropping another Tribute like Peeta did once to Katniss, in effort to make a statement that another may need to know about? Is there anything you want to come up in your Tribute's interview specifically? This spot is for those who intend to change things up.

This may be my last opportunity to put Psii in a dress, y/n? It doesn't have wheat on it, but it runs with D9's yellow theme?

Psii's said he doesn't approve of making Avoxes, even when he knew hidden mics would pick him up. Now he might want to speak up for them on national television, trying to present a plan for rehabilitating criminals instead of Avoxing them.

Of course, he's still secretly doing his rebel hacking thing on the side. Whether or not he can get an anon hacker network post up soon, he might try to get a coded message out using his interview. If any rebels or D13 people need to spread a secret message, whether through his words or even hidden in the honeycomb pattern on his costume, he's willing to risk it. Maybe it could be a message to help facilitate whatever events will be starting the war.

I'm also down for bouquets of wheat presented to Snow accidentally-on-purpose being incinerated by sparks from a truly unfortunate placement of pyrotechnics. What a shame!
