Arena Update.

Cold As Ice
The temperature over the weekend will plummet sharply and however at around -15F/-26C for several days. The skies will be clear without a cloud in sight. But never fear, Tributes. This bitter cold respite is just the calm before the storm. This cold snap could prove deadly to anyone foolish enough not to find adequate shelter.

Run To The Hills
As the sun finally begins to warm things up on Tuesday, the forest will seemingly spring to life with animal activity. But it's not just any old animal making an appearance. Jabberjays will fly through the arena, imitating the cries of loved ones and friends, both ones in Panem and ones from Tributes' homeworlds. These feisty mutts will scream incessantly for hours, almost herding Tributes toward the caves using the voices of loved ones crying for help to urge Tributes on. Once an adequate number of Tributes have been lured into the caves, the real fun will begin.

A Butcher's Tale
Those who have been driven into the caves will encounter a labyrinth of tunnels leading deeper and deeper into the ground. Eventually, they will reach one of several small chambers, stalked with various weapons: machetes, axes, hunting knifes, swords, maces, spears, clubs, hammers, scythes, and bows & arrows. An announcement will instruct them to choose their weapon wisely. There are also backpacks with food, water, and clean underwear for Tributes to help themselves to. The Tributes will then be told that they have 24 hours to kill the Tribute they've been assigned, after which time they will be freed from the caves. If they decide not to participate in the bloodbath, they will suffocate, as there is only enough oxygen in the caves to last 24 hours. Those Tributes who successfully murder their target will be let back into the main arena on Wednesday morning, with whatever weapons and supplies they can gather from the caves.

Those who decide to participate must sign up by Monday 23 February at 1159pm Eastern time. Those who sign up will then be assigned a target to go after in the caves. If you choose to participate, your Tribute will have a 50% chance of death with no buy-out option. However, if your character survives, they will have access to whatever food, water, and weapons they can find in the caves. The results and log will be posted on Tuesday.

Sam is definitely getting accosted by Jabberjays! He'll be hearing at least Riley and his dad, possibly the voices of other close CR. If anyone wants to be with him when he hears one of them, I'd love that!

I may be tossing him into the bloodbath, but I'm unsure on that yet, so I'm going to take a little bit to decide. I'm throwing him in for the bloodbath, so he may also be getting a death this week, depending on how things go!

Otherwise he's got an open log up here if anyone wants to help him take advantage of his Valentine's Day sponsor gift, or if any close CR want awkward conversations!

He's also available for rescues or fights, and potentially for killing if he's perceives someone as a threat to him or someone else!

Courfeyrac and co. are still at the snow barricade in the small meadow! Anyone and everyone are welcome to come bother them! He'll also be encountering jabberjays using the voices of Enjolras, Marius, and the other dead Les Amis, but he's not going into the bloodbath. So, if anyone wants to have some sad sack Courfeyrac times, I'm down!

LOOKING FOR ZOMBIE BITES

I want him bitten. So he can become the troll-version of a zombie, a Daywalker. He will probs kill the Zom after the initial bite but I could also justify him throwing them in a lake or something if people don't want their zombie dead. Any takers??? (Pretty please?)

Loki (MCU)

Loki has been playing it safe this Arena and has mostly been lurking in the caves, but he won't be going deeper and he may even avoid them this week. If he thinks he hears Thor through the Jabberjays, he'll move away quickly because of the earlier bad encounter.

I'll put up a log catch-all this week for sure so let me know if you want Loki for anything. Fights/to kill your character, etc.

ETA: Now with handy link. Open to all remaining in the Arena!

If anyone is willing to fatally injure Daryl (he will die later, via mercy kill, back in his own camp) while he's protecting Beth and consequently be hunted down and revenge killed by Beth and Rick, please let me know! The revenge part is something I'd like to have Daryl watch unfold in the Capitol for plot reasons. I'm also willing to handwave anything here as needed. This would be a good opportunity for anyone else scheduled to die this week, give the audience a real show. :'|

If there's no takers, he'll probably be tiger bait.
