thegamesooc | Upcoming Plot Volunteers Needed

Hello everyone! I know I'm on mod hiatus but this is really turning into my taking a break from mod housekeeping while I set up plot stuff. As such, I need some volunteers:

1. A character who, if they discovered the Capitol was covering up a major news event, would go public with it on the network. For example, though this won't be the case, a character who would spill the beans on, say, the assassination of a public figure. There will be IC consequences but I promise we won't kill your character for outing the truth. I'll work with you to make sure your character isn't unplayable. This character needn't necessarily be a Tribute. This will be a big part of the plot in June. As such, when selecting the character if there are multiple volunteers, I'll take activity and reliability into account.

2. Tributes who will have exposés for the Thicker Than Blood plot. I want to start working on this now before finals start to kick in. Basically, most characters will have family/friends/loved ones coming in during this plot, but those who don't have the option of a TV special on their lives (including past the moment of their pull point) with a Capitol twist. Some of these I'm going to be working on individually so if you're interested, sign up here. I can only take 3-4 more characters for this and will be prioritizing lone canon warriors, new players, or people who have a very clear idea what they want to do with their exposé, but I'll try and do something special for everyone who signs up. Only one character per player for the exposés, please.

Signing Albert up for an exposé! He has a pretty juicy tragic past (dead fiance, experimentation, robot punching, etc.) plus it'll serve some purposes:

1. Outing Jet and Albert as former cyborgs
2. Outing Jet and Albert as being in a relationship (including to Jet's homophobic dad who will be visiting)
3. Building some paranoia on Albert's part for how the shit do they know this stuff???

as well as a couple personal plot points. I'm really excited for this and hope he gets chosen for one! I'll do anything I can to help with canon information and all.

Fee's exposé could include her adventures in the Realms battling magical beasties, showing her off as a wild, goddess of the hunt figure. I would also be interested in having her romantic relationships exposed as well (her physical relationship with the gypsy boy Ithal and her romantic relationship with her classmate Pippa.) This would force her to deal with her self-directed homophobia and put her on the road toward self-acceptance.

Considering that I'm planning to have Carlos involved in Ian's rescue of Ian, which will (along with his incessant construction of scientific devices) get him on Capitol watch lists and that the only close canon mate Carlos has that could be brought in is canon!Cecil, I'm leaning towards an exposé that paints Carlos as a charismatic but tragically mad scientist. It would cover his work in Night Vale, his frantic disassembly of clocks and experiments that seem to have no purpose besides bubbling liquids and eqiations, and for the twist it could claim that Carlos actually dies a week after his canon point. The Capitol could claim that Carlos, investigating an underground city that really should have been left alone, hint hint, gets himself killed, thereby convincing Carlos that he has no future in Night Vale and that the Capitol is his only chance to live to test another day.

I wouldn't mind having Shepard's genocide-rich past made public to her chagrin and shame. There's a lot of awful traumatic crap just in the past few years, from questions about whether or not her 'rebirth' was as the same Shepard to decisions she made re: various crucial moments with the Krogan, Leviathans, and the Rachni which could easily turn around to set the world on fire after the Reapers are no longer a problem.

Oh right and that Virmire thing. Plus, over the course of the three games, she has comitted genocide like....four times, which is just awful enough for anyone, I'd think.

To be clear: It'd read like something intended to make people go "wow what a badass she is going to kick all the ass, let's bet on her for victor" while actually saying to the tributes, "she is an extremely awful person who will stab you all in the back and betray you, trust not this bitch, pls dissolve all alliances post haste"

I would love for the exposé to cover his death (since he technically still doesn't know the nitty gritty of it), and I'd suggest the Capitol frame the June Rebellion as more of what it was historically. That is, a mostly disorganized, poorly timed, (actually pretty un-)popular uprising. It could also include his execution of Le Cabuc, or anything else that would generally make it seem like Les Amis de l'ABC were more undisciplined hooligans than considered political idealists, but yeah. Go nuts.
