There is a LOT of information under this cut. Please be sure to read it all.
Also, please keep all major plotting to this post so everyone can see it and keep up to date with it. We are giving you guide lines, but you guys get to decided how most of the things in this plot go.Small things like "Hey, Eddie wants to wish Bert good luck." can clearly happen on plurk, but anything effecting more then a few characters should be plotted in this post. However you should now have all information plotting (besides a few details we may have spaced)
First! A Map!

Please be aware, for right now, this map is only for this plot and may not actually reflect any future, more comprehensive maps.
GROUP A
Group A is going to be going into the tunnels to eradicate the queen and her eggs. You guys may plot in some facehuggers if you like, the Capitol can remove them. The tunnel is straight back, large with two tracks and a maintenance off shot for about half a mile along side it, and about 25 feet high. It is also pitch black. The walls have been turned into the aliens nest, covered with alien stuff.
There are no trains inside, and the part the Xenomorphs have settled in is a 3 mile long chunk, before the tunnel opens up on the other side of the mountain (to more mountains. The rails eventually would end up in Colorado Springs to pick up Peacekeepers from District 2, but that is a very long trip)
They will probably find the remainders of the other teams, either dead, or having been entombed into the walls of the next (so pretty much also dead.)

GROUP B
You guys will be going through the neighborhood to clean out the three xenomorphs who have been hunting there. You've got a lot of room to cover, hence being a bigger team.
The neighbor hood is mainly residential + small business (restaurants, little boutiques, think of an upscale neighborhood strip mall.) There will be some bodies-peacekeepers and citizens who were unlucky, refused to evacuate soon enough, etc. They've also clearly been picking off wild and domestic animal life. The worst is closest to the tunnel.

If your character is marked for injury, you can decided how they are injured. However, it is substantial. We're talking losing limbs, penetrating wounds, etc.
All of your characters will be patched up by magical capitol medical, however, they will be entering the arena with a slight set back (a bad ass but still fake leg, or a weakness in an shoulder that was punctured by an alien tail) If your character is a Capitol citizen, however, this wound won't be erased when they die in the arena, so choose carefully.
Also, anyone not marked can choose to have their character wounded.
You guys also, once intelligence tells you you are under attack, will have NPC control of the alien.
You guys will be getting heavy duty guns with lots of ammo and at least one flame thrower per team.
With the teams, you guys can stay in big groups or split up (or do both at different times), it's up to you.
INTELLIGENCE
You guys are the brains. You will be watching everything that is going on through security cameras, etc, and telling teams where and when to go.
OOC this will mean you will pop into their threads and let them know when an alien is attacking. You guys have the power. Each team above should get at least one alien encounter.
Two things of note:
Venus can teleport a few times and do basic medical. She is technically in Group A but can be moved around.
Some can teleport lots.
HOMEBASE
When someone is injured, they'll be brought to you guys to deal with. In addition, because of the evacuation, the kitchens will be open, and you all will be in charge of feeding the troops.
You guys will also have less surveillance then normal. Don't let the power go to your head too much.
ALIENS
We are going for the regular aliens breed from humans, but we are saying they are a little less powerful so they don't just kill everyone.
They do know that there are three that leave to hunt at a time, though they are not aware that besides the queen those are currently the only three. Nor do they know about facehuggers if anyone wants to tackle the bastards.
GENERAL
How would you guys like us to set this up? A post for each area? A big party post? What about a comm post with running comments for radio between intelligence and combat?
Let me know in this thread, as well as any other mod feedback for this plot. We know it's a bit different, so talk to us about ideas for this. This is the thread for plotting out mod related stuff.

I'm not against it every not and again, but we just did an arena where characters were forced to be apart in randomized groups, now this big plot... I mean, we already have the 25 point bonus for new CR, is that incentive enough anymore?
I'm all for tagging out and try to it as often as I can, but there's a difference between that and being told I have to.

(Speaking of which, we can also still do stuff before everyone sets out and over the communicators while this is going on with whoever else we're not assigned with, so there's still a chance to get stuff in with out usual CRs.)

I, for one, had a set interaction I really wanted to happen with this plot and now that's completely out the window. I'm fine, and I'll survive, but I feel like there's an over emphasis on manufacturing ways at getting at new CR that's actually pretty unnecessary in this setting. To be honest, I've been really lazy the past AC period, and I'm still not hurting for new CR. My intention with this was to solidify certain dynamics between characters who have already met. And, granted, that's my own personal concern, but it's a major major let down, and one it looks like a few other people share.
My second concern is that this is almost an echo of what happened with the last Arena. (By which I mean the double-Arena surprise.) It's not to say that I think surprises can't work in this setting or with these players, or that you should stop promo-ing events. Rather, I think you should promo them. Get people excited! But also understand that the more excited people are, the more they're going to talk and the more misinformation can spread. The longer you wait between the promo and the actual info post, the longer people have to get attached to plans if they aren't told up front that they shouldn't make them. So yes, promo things, get people talking... But be sure they understand the limitations up front.
And lastly, I'm debating pulling out altogether because of the mandatory injury. I had intended for Enjolras to get injured and need rescuing during this plot, but it was with the assumption that it wouldn't affect his standing within the main Arena. He's already not a real contender within the Games and I already kind of loath playing out Arena stuff with him. I can't help but think having to account for a handicap (which I didn't really sign up for to begin with) will put a major damper on my enthusiasm for the Arena, no matter how cool it might be.

Let me be super clear, I'm good with terribly designed groups for the awful hilarity of it, but the reasons are a bit slapdash, given that the other one is "we want to encourage/force new CR"... and the groups are then picked based on negative CR in many cases. I love the group I'm in, but I'm disappointed that I'm not getting to work with people I haven't before (although... I'm not sure if Tim knows Anna or not).

And it also allowed for a pre-arranged pair + players who wanted their characters to be in a randomized group, too. For example, each a team is allowed a maximum of 4 characters. Two players have arranged for something with their two characters, but don't really care who else they're grouped with, so the remaining 2 slots are then RNG-ed by the mods from the pool of players who signed up for random groups.
I think that would have been a better way to accommodate both those who wanted random CR and those who already had made plans? Just something to think about for future plot stuff. :>

Also it can be hard for people (IC and OOC) to come out of their shell and throw an alien at people they don't know without having been assigned to them (one of the reasons the randomization of the combat teams is a good idea, which makes me confused why you guys didn't do that for the intel as well).
So, yeah, tl;dr, I think assigning intel to teams would be a Good Thing, both IC and OOC.

it isn't said in the post so morphling is not available for healers to use on injured tributes then? This is fine if that is the case, it was merely that I assumed (sorry) pre-emptively that it would be available and so I would be able to use it launch of a personal plot.
