Arena 06 Death Post - Week One

The canons do not begin to fire until the bloodbath is over. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. And with each sound, a brilliant burst of sparkling light, blue and red and pink, twinkles in the sky. For a moment, the burst seems to form a number; 6, 11, 6, 5. For those tributes who have been inside an arena before, its easy enough to guess what this means.

The canon fires when a tribute dies. But it is only on this first day that the fire is delayed. Typically, the death toll is much higher at the opening of an arena, but this time, there were no weapons to be found.

As the sun sets on that first cool early-spring day, the anthem of the Capitol begins to play and the first faces in the sky are shown. The faces of the deceased:

Due to a lack of weaponry at the start, only a few deaths in comparison to the unprecedented amount of tributes. Only serious injuries have occurred and everyone is well-enough fed that there is no danger of starvation or dehydration just yet.

There are no characters up for elimination this week.

CAPITOL NEWS.

A spark of new interest and excitement this arena takes the Capitol by storm. The revival of an old arena, and a popular one at that, will cause a huge surge in old merchandise, and a mass rush in decoration renovations.

Days are getting longer and warmer again. No more snow lingering in the shadows of the city, only the snow-capped mountain peeks give any indication that summer is still a long time away.
