Arena Update.

Just as with the week before, the outer ring of the arena is quite suddenly under fire. A deafening cacophony of bombs rain all along the outer edge until there's nothing but rubble. The forcefield creeps inward. The difference is noticeable, especially considering the arena has shrunk enough to pull people in toward the wasteland and bunker.

Zero's Game

It's no surprise that in the winding maze of the bunker, some traps and treasures can be found. Zero's Game contains a little of both. With only so much time left, Tributes are no doubt running low on supplies and hope alike. With teamwork, Tributes may very well be able to find weapons, food, water, and medicine alike, not to mention perhaps a small bit of faith restored in fellow Tributes. Though, of course, failure could very well mean an untimely demise.

All Tributes need to play is those four keys that could be fond within the castles during the early portion of the arena. The keys, wit, a partner, and perhaps a sharp eye for hidden messages within the Game...

This event does not require signs ups to participate but they do require it to win! Chance of winning is 75% with a 25% chance of death (no buyout). You have until 11:59pm Eastern time on Wednesday November 4th to sign-up. Those not signed up but choosing to participate will have had to forfeit.

Successfully completing the challenge will mean a week's supply of food and water, fresh clothing, a sleeping bag, and one hunting knife each. OOCly, the pair may also each get 100 points for spending on this week's bailouts for whoever they wish.

Tuning In

If you've been in the bunker, you've passed those televisions with their crackling static plenty by now. There's more than one room with them, some looking like cafeterias, some simply dark closets full of wires.

But this suddenly changes when they start constructing little scenes of your nightmares. Fear the death of a loved one? Enjoy the image of them dying on screen.

If a clip can't be put together from something in the Capitol, the arenas, or from their worlds, things are mashed together. A person who fears brainwashing may see the tools, hear the dehumanizing language, be shown a swinging watch-- anything to suggest that what you fear is known now. And the taunting isn't fading any time soon.

howdy friend, i've got a bird on the chopping block but was wondering if maybe you could offer some details? im not afraid of a grisly death plus chuck would be pleased in roland getting a kill......

He doesn't go out of his way to kill people so he'd either have to at least think Clint was attacking him or that Clint had to die in order for Roland to live, maybe if they were in some setting where a creature was attacking and only one of them could escape.

What might be fun is them working together against one of the arena creatures for a little bit, then ending up in some sort of setting where only one of them could get away - maybe if the escape route was really small or rickety or already moving away or the creature was right there. Something like that.

And if Clint would attack him and the thread starts out with them fighting, Roland could end up incapacitating him and leaving him for zombies or whatever to eat, that would be pretty grisly too.

It would also be cool if a thread with them briefly involved some type of proof for one or both of them being really good at longrange weapon type stuff too, that way they could potentially meet up afterward to compare skill in the training room or whatever.

I'm up for figuring anything out though! If there's any particular place in the arena or creatures that would be fun (I'm a fan of the giant spiders), we could work with that.

We could potentially do both, unless that would complicate things - they fight a shade together, then Roland leaves him to die via zombie dog? Unless Clint would start fighting Roland right away? Both those creatures can be found in the crumbling city, right? That would give lots of opportunities for some sort of passageway or timed gate or something that only one of them would be able to escape through.

One question, what are the shades? The arena info post says they look like they're made of shadows but actually aren't, and the link goes to some art of what they look like, but their name is too generic for me to be able to google and find out more about them without knowing what canon they're from.

That would work fine for me, actually???? He probably wouldn't try to fight Roland at first, especially if Roland wasn't immediately trying to kill him either. And the crumbling city sounds like perfect for our tricky escape plans.
