Arena Update.

So Sound The Drums Of War
A new horse wanders in, a strong and sturdy steed. Its hooves take firm hard steps over the arena. Its coat is a brilliant and beautiful red.

Anyone near to this horse, who even catches sight of it, will find their aggression suddenly increasing in startling amounts. They will be compelled to fight those Tributes near to them, and likely even kill.

The ghosts of their worst enemies appear now to further incite rage, taunting them on and tormenting them. The weapons held within the black smith's shop are all suddenly cool enough to touch and take. Those outside the castle may find supplies of great balls of cloth and metal by the catapult and good supply of torches. The intent is clear; defeat those within the castle.

Meanwhile, just off the coast, ships have begun to pull in...

The coat of arms has rusted away the to show the word War in place of Aequitatis.

Maze, Magic, Muttations!
Tributes hiding out in the fields may awaken to unfamiliar surroundings this week. If Tributes thought there was any chance of hiding from strife here, they’re sure to be disappointed. All around them the hedges either green or thick with thorns have risen high, winding on for the entire length of the fields. Through out the mazes, traps have been lain; deadly manticore muttations, small fire-breathing dragons, and the impatient chimeras standing behind stones with riddles carved in. Groups will be entirely separated from one another, driven to the further corners of the maze. However, Tributes also may find points of luck, like food lain out for them, med-kits, and even kindly unicorn guides-- though be warned, the unicorns will not tolerate disrespect and are happy to gore those fail to regard them well. Escape from the maze will lead them out to the dark forests, the siren beaches, or the war-ridden village.

Sign ups can be found below and will close at 11:59PM EST Wednesday. As this is the last week of the arena, there will be no rolls for death! Only injury and reward. Rewards can be selected from the item list at the victor's discretion. Players are free to have their character(s) die in the maze as they will.

The Pirates of Panemzance
From the beginning of the week, ghostly ships will be seen upon the horizon, promising to come nearer with each passing day. The promise of these ghostly ship sightings is set to come to fruition. On Thursday night the arena will become swamped with a thick fog, everywhere but the ocean. Then on Friday morning the remaining Tributes will be shocked into waking by the sound of booming cannon fire. Those who dare a look out to sea will see three ships flying pirate flags firing relentlessly upon the castle, village and surrounding countryside. They have no visible crews but their aim is impeccable as their goal seems to be the complete and total obliteration of the remains of this little kingdom.

Tribute's can run, Tribute's can hide, but this bombardment will continue until only one of them remains alive.

A Nice Warm Pint
The Gamemakers have noticed the strange trend of alcoholic splurges in the late arena. For the final week, the fountain of the tavern will flow with ale, as will the taps within the tavern. Be careful though, not only is drinking in the late arena dangerous enough as it is, but the alcohol is highly flammable and most of the arena by now is well and burning.

The Final Feast
Mercy comes and tables are filled with food. It's all the lackluster sort one would find in war-ravaged castle forced to ration; stale breads, the cheapest and driest of meats, slightly filmy vegetables... but it's at least something! And lucky for you, this time the feast is being left out to stay. Get it while it's fresh!

The Finale: Apocalypse
It's the final day of the arena. The last horse runs through before the canon fire has even ceased, with a coat so pale the horse appears see-through and made of nothing but bones. This horse cannot be touched and goes right through anyone who tries-- and immediately stops their heart.

The ghosts of the arena become wailing banshees, shrieking constantly and proving just as deadly to touch as the final horse.

A dark witch-wraith bigger than all the others swoops in from the arena's outer edge, breathing death open anything in its vicinity. It comes as a mist, but those who've experienced the seventh arena may recognize it, as well as its effects. Ariadne's poison is fast acting, breaking down the barriers of the mind that take the "oomph" out of bad memories, destroying resistance to pain, and finally killing the person. Unlike its administered version, Tributes can attempt to outrun this. However, they will all eventually be herded into the burning village's center.

The crests have all completely rusted to reveal an image of a skull under the words Without sacrifice, honor, equity, and glory, there is only death, and the final crest slogan of Gloria having been replaced with Morte.

Death offer

Jet's going to be seeing that lovely old enemy thing and based on the current trend he's been following, it'd be great if he saw the ghost inlaid over someone else, making him want to kill them. I'm still unsure about letting him find out he didn't kill the right person, so if that's something you want, this might not be the right death option. He's also going to 13 after this, so there won't be any kind of 'hey so you killed me' conversation to be had either.

As for Jet's own death, I'd really like him to die defending Sam and/or Bucky as much good as that'll do him but if that doesn't work out, he'll be going out by Shepard so his death is covered.

Murder and death offer

Bucky needs to die and I'd also love for him to get a kill or two in this week! If anyone needs to die and wants an assassin-y death let me know and I'm sure we can work something out! Especially as the enemies thing will be what makes Bucky snap this arena, as he has a lot of horrible people in his past he'd consider enemies.

Any chance I can call dibs on killing him? Éowyn hasn't actually killed anyone this Arena, and I'd like her to.

The Winter Soldier being killed by the shieldmaiden of Rohan, yes please!

There's other stuff being planned for him so it'd most likely be happening at the end of the week. They can have a boss ass fight or she can catch him out (starvation has bad effects on someone with a super-metabolism)? :3 I'm down with however you'd like this to play.

*chants* BOSS ASS FIGHT! BOSS ASS FIGHT! :p

Seriously, fighting him head-on seems much more her style. I would love to do that, if you're up for it. :D

If you could, that'd be great. <3 I'm writing up a long-overdue open for Alain, and I'd rather not post twice that close together.

Sorry to nag (and I don't want to rush you with the thread or anything) but do you have any idea how much damage Bucky would be able to inflict on Éowyn before she killed him? Just for threads later in the week, it'd be good to have a ballpark idea of how injured she'd be.
tookthewheel: (Default)

woops forgot I was in the mod account

[personal profile] tookthewheel 2015-07-10 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, well Bucky's a very harsh fighter and at this point he'll have given up holding back. He'll be using a knife, plus his fists, so idk... maybe a non-lethal stab wound (shoulder?) and some pretty serious bruising, possibly a broken bone if you want to go that far. Whatever you decide let me know and we can make sure they're played out in our thread \o/

'kay, awesome. Thanks!

I'll probably try to keep it vague, but stab wounds and bruising sounds about right. :)

Steve Rogers

[personal profile] aboveangrybees 2015-07-06 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Little Pre-Serum Steve needs to die this week and I really would like him to get fatally injured but get away from the person/thing that injures him so he can have some goodbyes with some CR. I would love to do it with him defending/saving someone, doesn't have to be successful saving, I am totally down for him failing that. EDIT: Steve's death has been planned! Steve can also offer mercy killings or injure people with his wand or knife if anyone wants that, especially with seeing his enemies and such, it will have him really on edge and ready to lash out.

I might be signing Steve up for the maze thing, maybe we can work that in somehow? I am open to about anything.
