Arena Update.

Brains + Brawn = Total Eclipse of the Heart
After weeks of trial by fire, the space station is looking a little worse for wear. And after weeks of brainstorming, Carlos the Scientist has come up with a way to put a stop to Arena 12. Utilizing Thor's mighty thunder powers, the pair of them will launch an assault on a weakened portion of the Arena's structure on Wednesday (December 31st.) Their scientific method for mayhem should be enough to send the place sky high--

If only the Gamemakers weren't paying such close attention!

This Place About To Blow
In response to Carlos & Thor, the Gamemakers will realize that the Arena is not long for this world. Deciding to cut their losses, the decision is made to set off the self-destruct sequence of the space station before the two Tributes can fully realize their plan. An automated voice will begin the countdown at the one hour mark and make an announcement every five minutes until the five minute mark where the voice will count each second. Tributes will be given no indication what the countdown is for until the five minute mark. Once the countdown reaches zero, the entire arena will explode, killing all remaining Tributes, leaving just one survivor.

Wait. One survivor? But how? Remember the bunker key? That key leads to a safety bunker, big enough for one Tribute to crawl inside and hide. Whoever has the key will win the Arena.

The Signless of District 12

District 13.

District 13 is planning two separate rescue missions to go ahead simultaneously. One would involve going outside the Arena during its last leg to rescue a certain intrepid scientist, and one would involve going into the Capitol to rescue a lovesick Frenchman and a white boy rapper from the Tribute Center. We need about 3 volunteers for each* and there can't be any overlap between the teams because the missions will be happening simultaneously. Please note if you prefer to go into the Capitol or outside the Arena, and we'll try to accommodate that as much as possible. ICly these missions will take place on January 1st, but backtagging is welcome and encouraged.

To give you an idea of what we have in mind, the Arena rescue will be a little more like a traditional action movie rescue mission, and the Capitol rescue will be a little bit more covert. The Capitol rescue would also give characters the opportunity to possibly interact with a few characters in the Capitol. This would be contingent on the interaction not compromising the mission or the security of D13, but we're willing to work with people to figure out specific requests within reason.

(*If we get more volunteers we can find a way to make it work! We're just planning for 3-ish so that the log will still function adequately with a lower number. So don't worry either way! This is just a ballpark number.)

WELP this is not exactly what he thought he was signed up for! They said 'fight to the death' not 'run and hide while we blow all of you sky high'.

THAT BEING SAID anyone want a powered up mage that is DISPLEASED with his sudden current situation? Haven't had much of a chance to play him yet since I just apped him in, so I'm up for anything!

I also have an open post a few posts down if anyone wants to backdate something! / put in something new there!
