Tech/Logistics for the Rescue

Hey there, guys! The mods got back to me on the tech for the prison break, as well as some cool consequences to play with for some of it. They also answered some of the questions I'd collected and asked on behalf of people regarding logistics.

The following tech requests are approved:

1. Intel on the location of the jail and it’s basic security schematics. This is being provided by Wesker, though Brainy will verify it.

2. One time use security bypass devices for those who have requested them. These devices will look like various small household objects. Keychains, jewelry, glasses, etc. You can god what form your characters's takes. Anyone that needs one for the rescue attempt will get one. These devices should give them full invisibility to cameras, microphone, life sign devices, devices that detect their trackers, etc. They can crack up eletronic locks, retinal scanners, and security devices. The Tributes' worst enemy will likely be Peacekeeper patrols rather than the devices not working.

They will burn out after the rescue once people have been delivered to safehouses due to limited power cells, give a warning and countdown and self destruct to hide the evidence. The characters will be warned of their limited use and that they'll self destruct to hide the evidence at the end so it won't come as a surprise. You don't have to have your character talk to Lonestar to get them, the Tributes will have them discreetly passed from hand to hand or hidden in places around the Capitol and you can god that part.

3. Bucky’s arm device is approved, so long as it is a one time deal. It will automatically bore in and install itself, and automatically eject itself and self destruct when it wears out. Bucky will be informed that, unfortunately, tech could not be scavenged to make it last longer but this is a test run and someday Lonestar might try for something more permanent.

4. A broadcast device as a distraction is approved, however the peacekeeper response to it is not one of extreme concern. The immediate Capitol response will be to sever all broadcast services in the Capitol aside from CCTV. The peacekeepers have more serious matters to attend to and will send a small task force of four officers and a few IT guys to investigate and disable the device.

5. Brainy/Lonestar will be allowed to scavenge from a pod for the tech, however in the process another nearby pod will become armed and begin a slow countdown to detonate. The pod will release it’s payload 48 hours after Brainy disturbs it, at which time a vicious pack of Squirranhas will be released into the Capitol. The Squirranhas (squirrel/piranha hybrids) will rampage through the Capitol and create a path of destruction for three days until Capitol scientists/animal handlers subdue them.

Follow up to questions I asked for people:

1. Routes within the sewers are allowed for people to escape with the captives. However, the pods are still armed and if they are disturbed, touched, etc., they can be set off. They can also be set off intentionally to provide a distraction. If people want to go down this route to escape the prison break, please let the mods know so they can tell you what will happen. Since that won't involve Brainy's tech, I'm treating that as between people and the mods so I can't answer any questions on it. He can at least inform them it's a viable if they don't touch the pods, though. Characters like Jolie have also volunteered less risky ways to transport captives to their hiding places.

2. The mods say that players can hand wave whatever abandoned places you like for your characters to hide out for whatever number of days they were assigned. Use whatever prior approved surveillance options you have at your disposal to hide them (ie the devices used to bypass security at the prison). The devices will last at least until they get to safety. The Speakeasy is also a general option as a place to hide, along with the NPC workers/employees.

3. The question about how long they'll be free and what will happen when they got caught has been clarified in other places. Please see the mod posts on that. There’s still one last non-fatal penalty in the arena for all characters who participated in this plot. The plotting post for Arena 11 will go up this weekend, so all will be revealed then!

Now in terms of planning, just to allow more than Brainy to participate since I definitely want to use him more to enable stuff than doing it all himself, I've put up some sections in his post to work on some of this as communal.

How Characters Can Help Out

1. Techie guys can chime in HERE to work on the device schematics.

2. Lonestar asking Shep for her intel on the pods is HERE.

3. A call to action is HERE for people helping sneak spare electronic devices to drop off points is here. Normal people can sacrifice a music player, a tablet device, or any other electronics they have to help out at various drop off points so Brainy can cannibalize the tech. This will not be set up by me as a log but if your character comments they will be treated as contributing to the tech stash. You may thread out your characters sneaking out to do it together in the log comm on your own if you wish.

4. Jolie has volunteered cloth HERE that people can use to also mask their faces, since they're celebrities and can still be identified by line of sight even with the tech devices. You can assume kerchiefs and stuff have been discreetly disseminated but obviously the characters can use their own stuff. Just letting you know it's there on behalf of Jolie's player.

Ooookay so that's pretty much all the tech stuff. You can ask me any questions on the tech here but any further questions about "what can I do/what can't I do for the plot" will still have to go to the mods as I'm not one, just helping players organize the tech end of things so we're not all rushing the mods independently asking the same questions.

I still have an outstanding request on a modified longer-lasting device to bypass the security in Stephen's manor, and a device for Wesker, but I'm waiting for an answer on those since they came after the first requests.

Any questions, ask away!
