Dragnet & Jailbreak Plotting Post

At approximately 1am on Saturday morning, the body of head Peacekeeper Hsiang “Penny” Jiao was discovered deceased in her home in the Capitol. Her death was quickly ruled a homicide. Word of her demise has been kept a tightly guarded secret until now. At approximately 3am Sunday morning, Peacekeepers will storm the Tribute center and simultaneously put every floor on lock down. Arrest warrants have been issued for the following tributes and mentors:

The Peacekeepers will apprehend their suspects quickly and remove them from the Tribute center and to a group holding cell where they will be held before facing individual questioning. Any attempts from other residents of the tower to disrupt the arrests will result in police brutality. You will not be successful.

The late night newscast of Panem Nightly will be interrupted by a live broadcast from outside the Tribute Center. The arrests will be broadcast for the entire Capitol and all of the Districts to see.  There won't be an official log of the arrests, however you are welcome to post your own logs or reactions if you wish!

During the commotion outside, the following residents of the Tribute center will mysteriously vanish:

Their disappearance likely would not be noticed until morning. The Peacekeepers seem unconcerned by their disappearance as they have more pressing matters to attend to.

And now, for the OOC nitty-gritty:

Shortly a log for the suspects will be posted. It will be an open log set in the group holding cell. All the characters can interact with one another. You can also set threads during the time a specific character is absent from the holding cell. Your character will be interrogated and injured during their questioning, however all injuries during this time are superficial and non-permanant. No one is being mutilated. There will be plenty of time for that later. The actual torture scenes will not be logged out, however, if you would like to have your character sell out another character, accuse someone else of a crime, offer a trade, or otherwise talk to the Peacekeepers, please PM the mod account and we’ll work out something to further the narrative.

Players who’ve signed up to participate in the investigation of Penny’s death, please standby! Lisa will be PMing you in the next day or so with details of your character’s part in the investigation!

Players who wish to participate in the jailbreak, this is your chance to sign up if you haven’t yet! Here’s a bit about how the jailbreak will work:

The jailbreak is scheduled to happen approximately one week from now. You can either claim a specific target to rescue, or leave it up to the mods to pair you up. You may team up with other jail breakers to plot to rescue one person, however you cannot attempt to rescue more than one person. Multiple jail breakers can try to rescue the same person. Rescue attempts have a 50% failure rate. The mods will RNG whether you successfully rescue your target or whether your character is quickly apprehended and tortured. If you choose to work as a group, everyone is rolled together as a group, meaning that if one gets caught, they all get caught.

As a reminder, a failed jailbreak means punishment for your character.  They will be jailed and they may be tortured or injured.  There will also be a non-fatal consequence during the next arena.

As far as I know, Initiate is gunning for Terezi but Dave would go for Rose Lalonde anyway.

As has been said above, Initiate is breaking for Terezi Pyrope. He'll also be trying for Sandy Marko if he can manage both. He won't think to grab people to help so make sure to tell him to hold the heck up you're coming with him if you are in fact coming with him.

He used to run these sort of things so he'll be doing his best to call up old Subjugglator knowledge to get through as many people as possible, fast as possible, and getting the hell out of dodge. He will be using brute force and extreme violence wherever necessary. And naturally, searching bodies for keys, card keys, etc. If you get in his way, he will not hesitate to hurt you, he is just barely resisting a rampage but will be logical about this.

If Roland knew there was a way to keep Susannah safe after breaking her out of jail, he'd totally try to do it. Do any of the characters breaking people out have any plans regarding that? Or are they just going to do it and then try to find the best hiding place available?

AIDING AND ABETTING

Please comment here if your character is aiding characters with the jailbreak.

Any Tributes or Capitol characters who are caught aiding and abetting the escaped prisoners will find that their assets are frozen, meaning they ICly will not be able to sponsor anyone next arena (you will still be able to spend their credits, however they will ICly be attributed to anonymous donors.) Additionally, Capitol characters will be blacklisted from social gatherings and parties for the entirety of the next arena cycle and they will receive a metal wrist cuff (similar to the ones worn by Enjolras and Eponine) which indicates their status as traitors. It cannot be removed and can considered a permanent fashion accessory.

Characters who aid the escape process but do not directly participate will have a 1 in 3 chance of eluding punishment entirely.
