plot: take me to the (motorcycle) races
In continuation from the last plotting post on the subject, this weekend's races have now been officially rolled for, injuries assigned, winners determined, and prizes written!
All participants in every race will recieve a gift-bag filled with the following:
Flavored lip gloss. Fuzzy socks. A $25 gift certificate to Tea & Coffee. Clover-shaped chocolates. A green scarf. A commemorative keychain. Pocket heaters. An entirely inappropriate music box that plays that Davy Jones song from Pirates of the Caribbean. A fake mustache. A roast beef and cheese sandwich. An actual, live baby bunny (by which we mean a literally taxidermy stuffed rabbit that is completely not alive). A minature motorcycle.

Elsa wins a Sponsor Package, to be unveiled in the next Arena. She also wins commercial apperance rights for the upcoming Bumpercar line, her own personalized Bumpercar, and a "Smooth as Ice" tag-line. She'll also be granted an exclusive tour of the Bumpercar factory, with allowance to bring along two guests of her own, and participate in various interviews to talk about the race, and her feelings on the last Arena. She'll also recieve a wardrobe overhaul from the Academy of the Fashion Arts.
Cassandra "Sandy" Marco will win a few support roles in commercials alongside Elsa, and her own personalized Bumpercar, and a series of children's toys in Capitol Meals at the local sandwich joint. She'll also recieve a minor wardrobe overhaul from the Academy of the Fashion Arts.
Kain Highwind will also be awarded support roles in commercials alongside Elsa, and have his own personalized Bumpercar. There will also be a scarf series produced called the "Highwind Fantasy," for reasons no one can actually articulate.

Gabriel will be testing out the newest technology from Panem PharmiCal Industries after he wins, but that's hardly the prize! ApolloTech will be awarding him an unspecificed Sponsor Package, to be awarded during the next Arena. In addition, he'll be the face on ApolloTech's upcoming product line for household heating products, with a tag-line of, "It's so damn efficient, it may as well be heaven sent." ApolloTech will be paying him to attend "Heated" debates, where the only rules are there are no rules on debate subjects - but as always, carping on the Capitol is off the table. These sessions of nonsense will be taped and recut into portions of commercials ApolloTech aims to have go viral. He'll also be given a self-heating robe, made of the softest fabric imaginable, and quick dry (and shock-proof!) to boot. It will have "Gabriel" lovingly embroidered over the front hip pocket.
Mind Macready will be given a full fashion overhaul along lines inspired by her most recent Arena and her performance in the race. She'll also recieve a personally embroidered self-heating robe, made of the softest fabric imaginable, and quick dry (and shock-proof!) to boot.

Max, Cinderella, and De will all be informed that each will have a lovingly labeled "Care Package" Sponsorship gift available for them to use in the next Arena. They'll also be pulled into doing hospital visits for charity, which is misleadingly labeled: it's all under Panem PharmiCal headings. They'll be used in the marketing of the newest vresion First Aid kits for home, office, and also official use. Each lady will also have their own bandaid spray on line, with labeling catering to each of their individual "generated" images. Max with the young crowd, Cinderella with the fashionable, De with the direct and brash - regardless of how the three feel themselves. They'll also get an all expenses paid trip to a Panem PharmiCal Industries supported spa, for three nights and four days.

And yes, he'll be modifying his bike mid-race at the gas stations, asking to borrow pieces of hardware and making it so his bike does things like detect black ice and hover. These skills will never come up in game again...unless they do, in which case they will be referenced humorously.

I was planning to say he got distracted in the mountains and trundled across the finish line way later than everyone else
...also his helmet hair is atrocious thanks to his haircut, he will be wearing dweeby glasses under the helmet, and he will be wearing a lab coat the whole time. Except it's a practical, reinforced lab coat that serves as a motorcycle jacket. Yes, it billows dramatically behind him.
