HOW'S MY DRIVING?

Anon is enabled, don't be an a jerk.

This is not a love meme, however, that also doesn't mean it is a hate meme. Someone's driving can be good, feel free to say as much! Just try to give them an idea on how.

Also please make sure if you are asking for crit you are also giving it. If everyone only posts for themselves, no one will get any feedback. You don't need to comment to everyone, but please be sure if you comment to reply to at least 3 other people. We'll be keeping an eye on this post to make sure everyone's commenting around.

There are some helpful crit questions posted here if you are feeling lost on how to word yourself.

I mostly just wanted to say that I've been really impressed with how all the mods have been so on top of this game even while dealing with so many other obligations and personal things. Thanks so much for working so hard to make this a fun game for everyone. <3

Repeating what was said above, you guys do make this game really fun, and amazing to play in. I think that you handle problems that come up really well, also, and that's really important, because you guys are on it. Sometimes mistakes get made! But that's not like it's a new thing that people sometimes do. So yes, you guys are doing a wonderful job.

And I also want to add in a personal thing as well. You guys have made it easy for people to come talk to you, especially when it comes to plots. Mods scare the shit out of me, usually, and I'm terrified to suggest something, even if I think it could be really cool, so I might not suggest anything. But I've come to you guys with plot ideas, and you didn't just say "Sure, you can do that!", you said "Sure, you can do that, and would you want to also have this and this? This stuff could tie into it, would you be okay with that?" which says to me that not only do you approve player plots, but you want to do more with them, and tie other things in. And that really feels like we're (I'm) contributing to the game besides just playing in this world that you've given us.

So thank you, for that, and for all of your hard work. I really do appreciate it. <3

(Anonymous) 2013-09-22 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
This isn't a major thing, or even like something that ruins the game completely for me, but I'm really not keen on the forced CR plots.

I like being encouraged to make new CR and I like events where it gives me the chance to make some new CR that isn't just chit-chat, but I was really excited about the upcoming plot and wanted to do some character-heavy things with it, only to find that I was put with people whom my character had absolutely no CR with at all, and no real reason to have any deep threads with. So all my fun kind of got sapped out of this one. :c Especially after I'd plotted stuff out a bit before I realized how limited the cr pool would be on this plot.

I think it's a great idea to encourage people to extend their cr but i think it kind of sucks when an event that otherwise could have some real meaning for a character or an established relationship instead ends up as an awkward 3-4 way 'let's meet for the first time then kill things together' thread instead, especially after the last arena was split CR too.

I don't know how to suggest to fix it except maybe in a plot like this you could let people kind of do pairs and then mix and match the pairs or something? so established cr and new cr? i don't know.

sorry, just kind of disappointed. :c

Effie and Eddie

I know I have been terribly bad at being on top of things due to real life issues like...all summer. And I'm very sorry. I've been trying to make my issues as least inconvenient for everyone ICly as I can.

Past that, any feedback is welcomes, especially on Eddie (Although I know he hasn't done a lot.)

I totally get being busy and how it brings fun times down. It's not your fault. Life comes first and all that and, even if you are a mod, you shouldn't worry about that. Even for mods, it's still pretendy fun times.

That aside, I LOVE seeing Effie around when I'm able and I look forward to seeing more of her later. :)

Maybe I will actually give a prompt on this one lol okay so

I know my tagging speed / consistency has historically been shit: have you noticed any improvement / worsening lately?

If you want CR with me have you gotten it? Have I been reaching out enough? Is there anything I am doing that you feel is really out of character / reaching too far, or do you think I'm not playing with the setting enough?

If you want CR with me have you gotten it?

No. No, not at all. None. :| I am disappoint.

Lol, but seriously, I really like everything we have done. I think the groundwork has been laid very, very realistically for our CR. Max and Wyatt aside, even with Ellie, we've only had one thread together, but you can already see the very beginnings of CR. A nice, slow buildup being made.

You're willing to be patient and make it real and I love that. Even when I'm being so impatient just want all the things, I know it's for the best and appreciate you being the voice of reason.

But any criticism for Eponine would be fabulous please!

futilecycle: (You know it's true:)

I wanted to say that I really enjoy playing with you! :D You are very prompt with your tags, you really like your characters and are passionate about them (which I love to see), and you are very good at providing hooks to keep the conversation going. I'm never completely stumped with how to direct a conversation or confused over how to keep the thread going, because there's always such interesting discussion or action when it comes to interacting with your characters. And that makes you a ton of fun to play with!

If I could make a suggestion, I would say that maybe sometimes there might be a bit too many hooks in one tag? There are times when Eponine will say three or four different subjects in one tag that my character would want to respond to, and then there are a few separate conversations going on in one thread at the same time, which can get a little messy and doesn't flow like a real discussion. (I also do this a lot by accident, so this could be partly my fault too, sorry!) But this is fairly minor and doesn't interfere with how enjoyable it is to thread with you! :)

I could give you the longest list in the world about how I suck as a roleplayer. :\ But anyway, I'm aware that often times my tags will lack material for you guys to bounce off of (in not just this game either). I've been trying to work on that, so let me know if you've seen improvement/the same crap. Also, my typos know no bounds and I'm also sorry about that, especially from my lack of proofreading tags.

Plus, this is the first time I've drug Remy out in about a year. Considering his amount of tags, he seems to be a hit XD but I would very much appreciate any crit about him/his characterization/how I handle him/etc.

My personal HMD for all of my characters is on Holiday's journal (anon enabled/screened/IP logging off) if you feel more comfortable going there. It's open at all times, so you don't need to wait if you have any immediate problems with me.

Look at me, tl;dr-ing up the HMD.

Pruna, Shion and Ian

[personal profile] knifewithnoname 2013-09-14 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Katy here. At the moment I have:

Pruna | [personal profile] knifewithnoname
Shion | [profile] savedbythesong
Ian Gallagher | [personal profile] wantwhatiwant

Pruna: She's my strongest muse here, I guess I still worry about her being consistent, am I keeping her dialect consistent, is it horribly annoying (you can opt out of it here

Also this gap in arenas has had Pruna learning lots of new things, mostly about relationships of all kinds. Feedback on how I've handled it would be great, I hope I kept her reactions as realistic as I could with an eleven year old fantasy assassin brat.

Shion: Is he interesting enough? Is he coming along as clever as he really is but still a flaily kid? I enjoy the CR I have with him and would like more, and I always worry that people find Shion boring as he is quite difficult to balance right.

Ian: AM I AMERICANING RIGHT??? Seriously if you ever see something in an Ian tag that just isn't said/said a different way in the USA please tell me.

Other than that Ian is my newest muse here and I am still getting used to him. So general am I in character and if not tips for improving would be great!

In general: As I've mentioned before I'm dyslexic so spelling and grammar sometimes fail dramatically. Never be afraid to bop me and tell me to correct something. But if you see anything constant feel free to tell me here.

Otherwise in general, am I approachable, consistent, do I tag fast enough? Is there enough to go off in my tags?

All the worries all the time.

All my characters have anon enabled private HMDs if that is more convenient for people.

I don't have a clue if you're American-ising right... but I loved Ian in the arena - and if you're up for it, I'd definitely like him and Eps to meet up some time after tomorrow when I have time! I'm canon-blind, pretty much with his canon, but I liked his character as you played him.

I LOVE Pruna! I have wanted CR with her for ages and ages - but Eps isn't the type to just approach a kid and start a conversation - so I am super glad that you tagged into my post! And I'm sorry I haven't replied in forever; uni got intense! But I am up for continuing the thread if you are?

Yami - Enjolras

[personal profile] orestes 2013-09-15 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
A couple of things!

I've been crushed under the weight of school, work and local politics lately, so my replies have been few and far between. I'm actually less concerned about the pacing, so to speak, as I am my ability to tag into new things with new CR. This should all even up once the semester gets really started and the elections are officially over and done with. It's definitely a temporary thing! But I'm aware it can be really frustrating and I'm sorry if I've been holding anybody back/have made myself hard to wrangle for CR.

Also! Enjolras is still on his vague downward spiral of questioning principles of enlightenment liberty and equality (and Rousseau's belief in the natural goodness of human nature). He's stubborn and isn't willing to give up on those ideals right off the bat, but the Capitol is um, obviously kind of hard place to really keep that kind of thing up. CR-wise, he's been conspiring with Cindy and distributing (anonymously) some seditious pamphlets around town. I guess my concern is that he's getting too outside of his philosophical norms too quickly? While I do want him to develop and I do like the idea of him taking on a kind of Jacobin perversion of Rousseauist ideals, I'd also like to make sure the development is consistent so uhh, yeah. Let me know stuff! Or something! And as always general feedback (Are my replies easy to respond to? Am I typoing too much? All of that.) is always welcome. The above is just my own personal insecurities at the moment.

Just Signless right now! I know my activity has historically been up and down more than a particularly harrowing rollercoaster, but I think I've hit a good stride lately even if I will never be a super fast tagger.

Also as a note, I currently have myself under a ban on making new open posts or top level party post comments, in order to keep my number of threads down and hopefully allow myself to give more attention to the threads I already have (has this been helping -- have you noticed an improvement lately?). I know this might make it a little hard to tag me since I'm not giving much opportunity, so if you want to do a thing with Signless, don't be afraid to tell me through PM, or here, or on plurk at [plurk.com profile] mister_inkwell

There's nothing else I'm super duper worried about, but if you've noticed anything I haven't mentioned here or that's been bothering you, please do let me know. I also have an anon enabled screened HMD on Signless's journal if that would be more comfortable for you.

I'd really like some crit on how I'm doing, if you have any--not just on the tag front but also in general. Logged in or anon is fine. Thanks. <3

I would like to give a small bit of crit. I'm sure there are people who have felt this sentiment, but probably don't have the nerve to post to you or to anyone who this crit may apply to. But I've noticed that a lot of times, you do seem to have a tendency to only tag in to characters in your fandom when it comes to OTAs, while you seem to ignore others unless they explicitly tag into your comments.

I am wondering if you've noticed this, and what you plan to do about that?

R || WARM BODIES

I'm trying to work on my tag speed. I also feel that I could use more physical description in my posts since I tend to lean toward introspection.

Actually I've found R to be one of the most engaging characters I've played off despite his lack of dialogue. I've had a lot of fun with both Dualscar and Murdoc's interactions with him and I think you've done a great job of making a character with vocal issues so delightful.

Lin Mayuzumi | Remember11 | [personal profile] and_my_pickaxe

For some reason Lin isn't working out well for me and feels very one-note, which is odd as I used to consider her my strongest, so I think I'll try halfway into the next Arena and drop her if it's just not to be. Sorry about any weird thread droppy-ness with her, it's not you, it's me.

I've also been making a conscious effort to drop less in general, but now I might just be horribly slow. Very sorry, no excuses, I will do better in the future.

Amy: Peeta, Cindy, and Perry

[personal profile] shinyisfalse 2013-09-15 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Okay! I know that my tagging hasn't been the best lately, and I do apologize for that. I'm getting back into the swing of things, though, so things should pick up a little bit.

For Peeta, I just want to make sure that he's doing what should be done. I know he's a big character, and I hope that I'm handling him in a good way? You know, standard voicing, interactions with people, not having him be too annoying with how he presents himself? He hasn't had the biggest presence in the Capitol, but I'm looking to change that in the future.

For Cindy, voicing as well. She comes off pretty sarcastically, which I try not to make too obnoxious! Is she interesting enough, is there enough in tags, those kind of things.

And Perry is brand new, so not sure what he's going to do yet anyway, but if you have any crit for him, awesome!

I think you are handling them all well, though I've obviously not seen much of Perry. I enjoy reading your threads as well as playing with you.

I don't find Cindy obnoxious at all and always find your tags easy to respond to. A little bit more introspection is always good but I know I'm not always the best at that either!

I haven't had a chance to see your Dr. Watson yet, but I really like how you play Timaeus. He has a very solid and consistent personality that makes him feel like he really belongs in the universe. He feels like an actual character from the books, if not even better and very well rounded out. He's an amazing OC!

That said, I do have some slight criticism. This is some old crit (I didn't see a post from you on the last HMD, if I just overlooked it I apologize) and mostly has to do with some ooc things I have noticed - when you made the big party log with Timaeus, on plurk you would ask who you owed tags to in the log (which was different from "is there anyone I missed?"). When I was able I pointed out our thread and you got back promptly in those cases, but there was one point in particular where I missed one of these plurks because I was at work and commented well into the day after, and while Tim's other threads were done, I didn't get a reply back until two weeks later and I felt kinda bummed about that and dropped it. It almost came across that if someone didn't have plurk you wouldn't have responded to their threads or kept track of them. I understand that this might be because you turned notifs off, but when a player makes a log, even if it's a HUGE log, the onus is on the maker to keep track of the tags they owe and not the commenters, even if it's just a sweep through the log once a day or every few days. Then again, I was also being super slow at the time myself (and I didn't have the most interesting muse there haha), so this is sort of hypocritical of me to say. I hope I don't come across as rude, because I really admire people who are able to do such huge logs with huge comment counts! So if this criticism helps, take it, if not, you are still a great player and have some wonderful interactions with a variety of different characters. :)

Additionally, this isn't really crit if this is what you are going for, but Tim's circle right now is very closed (the last network you made with him was addressing certain people), making him inaccessible to new CR. Which is a shame, because he's a character I really enjoy and would love to play with (especially with a new character). But this could also be because you were busy, too, so I understand, and it may have come to a point where your sponsor only chooses certain characters to interact with and such.

Anyway, keep on keeping on! I hope to see more of you.

Marius Pontmercy | Les Miserables | [personal profile] saisamour

I know I've been really slow with tags recently; I haven't been feeling RP in general and I'm aware that my tagging speed reflects that. But I'll hopefully get back into the swing of things after hiatus! :3

Aside from that though, anything else I might be able to improve on? Am I writing tags with enough things to react to? Is Marius too bland? Too... something else? Etc, etc. just anything in general you can tell me would be helpful!

Commenting around a bit laterr~

I enjoy our CR and enjoy reading Marius' interactions with others. I always find enough to react on, even when he is being his spacy self. Not much crit here I'm afraid!

Orphaner Dualscar | Homestuck | [personal profile] shellfishlovver
Murdoc Donoghue | Panem AU | [personal profile] richpeopleproblems

I've been a bit slow lately, but I'm working on involving myself more. It's a little more difficult with Dualscar because he's kind of, well, evil. But Murdoc should be around more.
