Inside The Arena:

The worms have finally gone back to wherever the hell they came from. Occasionally, a ground tremor shakes the earth in certain areas; signs they may not have gone far.

When darkness falls at midnight, the night suddenly seems to shift back into something that resembles normal. There is a sunrise; dusty pinks and yellows in the desert, vibrant pinks and oranges that slide into morning. The day comes and lasts as long as it normally word in the outside world. And then it's night once more. Time seems to be behaving normally again.

Who knows how long that will last...

As ever still, the tributes continue to fall. The canons sound throughout each arena with every stop of a beating heart. Every 24 hours, the anthem plays and shows in the recent days these are the faces in the sky:

Arena1: Candyland:

The connection to the desert arena lies deep within the castle. Immovable bars separate this side from the other, and the connection remains. But anyone who lingers here too long may find the cave feeling with water, toxic gasses seeping into the air, or some nasty little cave creature hungry for your flesh.

Arena2: The Desert

Any character listed in the death roll above may be "bought" out of death by another character for the set amount of credits this week. No character may buy themselves out of their own death using their own credits. Characters without enough credits are allowed to pool credits from other player characters, so long as it has been discussed by all parties.

Please make sure that you respond to the death buyout thread before Saturday, so the mods can make the proper adjustments before the next death roll post goes up. Also keep in mind that if you would like to volunteer your character for death, you are free to do so at any time. They do not have to come up in a death roll to die. Please just let a mod know in the Death Buyout thread so your character(s) can be properly removed from the arena!

Life In The Capitol:

Commercial breaks during the Games have been buzzing with adverts for a new compilation video coming out soon: a greatest hits of past 74 Games; with highlight reals of victors, media clips of Victory Tours and interviews with Caesar Flickerman.

This has brought a little brighter spotlight on mentors here in the Capitol than usual, and caused quite a bit of excitement among diehard Hunger Games fans.

Bert is wandering near the castle most of the time, but ranging farther to hunt people down and keep from getting bored. He will definitely be up to kill/maim/hurt anyone who wants it. He's still on Gunslinger autopilot at the moment and ignoring his feelings.

I'm, as always, happy to have him kill people. I wouldn't mind having him team up with someone, too, but it might take some wiggling to do that.

Ian Chesterton (Group 2) & death by wildlife

Ian is dying this week. He's weak from starvation and dehydration and is going to accidentally run into a group of bison.

Other people can get involved in in this - either fighting off the bison and/or killing Ian (on purpose or accidentally) before the bison/starvation/dehydration get him.

Marius is dicking around with Ian Gallagher lmao. Also probably starving himself.

ANYWAY! He's actually getting his wish and dying this week so anyone want to plot death stuff with him? He'll fight back if anyone tries to attack Ian (provided Ian's mun says it's cool for him to be there when marius dies of course), otherwise he's not putting up much of a fight lmao.

Shepard — Group 1

currently attempting the stealth, and hating every minute of it— perennially still hanging out with Pruna and Sandy, at odd times. She's beginning to see all the faces in the sky and wonder how much longer this can go on.

Oh, and then there's the fact that she's pretty much exclusively been party to killing kids so far. That's going to be really fun to have nightmares about.

But she's tough, and she's biding her time on the theory that the main thing is just not to die or become so crippled as to be useless by the time that biding time is no longer useful and fighting becomes inevitable.

Oh! Also, I still have credits and if anyone really really wants to have their dude bought out of death, I can totally help c:

Asha (GROUP 1) and Mona (GROUP 2)

They are both still alive this week!

Asha is getting hungry but still doesn't realize that this stuff is supposed to be candy, so she's safe on that front! She's up for any scuffles or murderings-- I'd really like to get her in a fight this week, if anyone's interested! She's decked out in chainmail like it's 1299 and loving it and is therefore reverting to her old ways of pillaging and reaving for supplies, which can be a reason for her to attack basically anyone.

Mona is still alive somehow because she's a sneaky little cockroach! However, Eponine is dying which means she'll have to fend for herself (or, more likely, find someone knew to latch onto). She'll also be going around trying to steal stuff off of dead bodies (stuff includes clothes, since she's still dressed like Regina George) so if anyone is cool with their body being messed with, lemmie know! (This may legit include shit like removing teeth and hair, Mona is really fucking weird)

Tohru Adachi | Candyland

Adachi's got his little mini-camp set up by the milkshake river, and he's been pretty good (other than I think he may get a little munched on by Some; not sure yet). This needs to change.

...and I feel horrible, but he really needs to be forced into killing someone this time around. :B

Peggy is boned but still alive and could very much use a living person as an ally since no one is left in Arena 1 she knows. Barring that, she's very likely going to be going around smashing Doki and generally showing a level of frustrated paranoia that is unhealthy.

Sandy Marko (Marked for Death) Arena 1

So Sandy has been getting dragged around the Arena by Pruna

Who in turn has been spending time with Howard and Shepherd.

Sandy's leg is a mangled mess but so far she has yet to consider the option of suicide.

I have two options as I see it.

(A) Sandy finally succumbs to the madness of the constant singing, pain and horrible melting world and pitches herself into a burning rainbow of death. Sandy will have finally hit bottom...probably. I might be able to drag her lower.
This will most likely put a strain on her relationship with Pruna who has to this point been her best friend and ally.

Or

(B) Having been hardened by weeks of pain, little sleep and having to rely on Pruna Sandy goes down swinging when someone catches her alone or attacks her and Pruna.

What do you guys think?

Dropping this here because I'm about to go to bed and I don't want to forget, but for a variety of real life reasons I've been incredibly inactive in the arena this round, with Alpha and Diana Prince (nothing past the initial post). I was thinking that instead of trying to play catch up for the past few weeks, figuring out some plotty reason they've been been apparently absent since the cornucopia or something to that effect?

I can discuss this on plurk, pm, aim, email, wherever.
