My name is Jamesy and I'm bringing in Dirk Strider from the webcomic Homestuck. He's a 16 year old from far in the post-apocalyptic future who kicks ass, takes names, and has an unhealthy infatuation with puppets. Also he builds robots and stuff and can be a bit of an asshole. That's really all there is to say on the matter, mostly.

And as for his glasses, he's a pretty big anime fan, as well as a bit hung up on being as cool as possible. So he wears them because he thinks they're cool, and because they're anime.
