Arena Update.

The first button has been pressed. Week one ends and week two begins with a deafening cacophony of bombs. Only one portion of the arena has been targeted but everything in that portion has all been completely wiped out. The Desert and Dustbowl sections are left to ash and ruin. There is another button available to be pressed this week.

Dustbowl Doozy

Those old radios in the worn down dustbowl houses have been crackling quite a bit. Between the swing songs, the broadcasts of tribute activities, and the pure static, there's plenty going in them airways.

What you perhaps didn't expect was to hear the desperate or even pained voices of loved ones. It's the one time the radios don't crackle. The voices ring out in the dustbowl, calling for people to join them.

Those that are lured in will find themselves on one of two sides. A force field will go up around both sections and announcer on the radio will inform them that they must defeat the opposing side. The first team to completely wipe out the other gets to go free.

You have until 11:59pm Eastern time on Wednesday October 7th to sign-up to battle in the dustbowl. Those who have signed up will be rolled with the following odds: 50% chance of death (no buy out), 20% chance of injury (can be treated with medical supplies), 30% chance of walking away relatively unharmed! And those of you who leave the fight alive will earn a FREE PARACHUTE OF SUPPLIES! If you successfully survive the dustbowl war, the sponsors at home will give you the gift of your choice! You get to choose from the following options:

1 - One week supply of fresh food & water, a fire starting kit, deluxe medical supply kit, a fresh change of clothing (includes underwear & socks), and one sleeping bag.
2 - One week supply of fresh food & water, one sleeping bag, and one adrenaline shot.
3 - A shotgun with plentiful ammunition.

All options will arrive in a waterproof backpack with the Tribute's name embroidered on it. There will be a thread for sign-ups below.

Not What You Wished For

While the sun is deadly in the Alternian portions of the arena, the night sky is overwhelmingly beautiful, with colorful clouds, a plethora of, and even two bright pink and green moons that can't be seen anywhere else in the arena. Blink, and you might miss the shooting start that zips by.

But maybe not the next one. Or the one after that. Or the one after that... It shouldn't take long to figure out. It's not a shooting star. It's a meteor shower. It's an extinction event.

The meteor shower rains down, taking out buildings, lighting the Alternian forest on fire, and sending the sea beasts into a frenzy, the giant tentacled moster letting out a truly defeanening shriek longer than any before it. Once the event is over, the only thing left of the Alternian sections are dusty craters, extensions of the desert.
