Once Upon A Dream

Well over a year ago, Capitol TV held a great big special on Tribute families. That is, everyone had people from their worlds brought in, family, friend, and enemy alike. These guests were informed the whole experience was not but a dream and for many, that dream ended in a nightmare.

Now, the Capitol has opted to bring this TV special back, taking a literal turn with their guests being part of a dream. A 'no mess, no stress' experience. Are the guests real and being held somewhere? Are they merely spectres skillfully played to likeness? That will all depend... On the seventh day, the dream will end and your character may well be none the wiser to whether a given Vistor was truly there. But the threat the Capitol makes with these is very much real.

Visitors may be entirely fake, real, or such realistic copies that the person whom they were brought for may very well wonder if they weren't here for a very brief time. Visitors will not be told that you're competing in death matches. In fact, they won't be told anything at all this time. They'll be in a world of dreaming and whether they recognize this or not is up to players themselves.

Visitors may also be Panem AUs. In fact, you do not have to be a Tribute to participate in this event. If you play a Panem AU, they may ICly have purchased tickets (or been given some free) allowing them to participate in this event and roam among the dream. Even characters in District 13 will get the chance to participate in this event for a brief time.

This dream will be one shared by all, though they may take off in different "directions". NPCs will only be around within the dream. You are free to take some liberties in the dream - logic can be played fast and loose, time can repeat itself, language doesn't have to make perfect sense, and minor things about the setting can change at your whim. If your character imagines and knows themselves in a different way than they physically are, younger, lacking scars, so on, this is also a possibility for them.

If your character dies in the dream, they simply wake up, but threats on Capitolites and the Capitol itself will still, of course, be met with punishment-- if your guest is a definite fake, you may find said guest trying to root the treason out of you into the open.

Threads with NPCs will not count towards Activity Check unless there is at least one other PC. You cannot get the new CR bonus for threading with an NPC.

There will be seven days worth of dreaming, with the atmosphere and setting of the dreams changing each day. Once the plot has started, you're encouraged to start your own plots and do open and closed posts. If you want to do a somewhat larger plot, please contact the mods and we'll help you set it up and set up a plotting post in here for it.

I would love anyone ever to bring Nick's Uncle Pete or anyone from The Walking Dead series, be it from the tv show, comics or games!

Same with Vivi! Any one from FFIX would be awesome (Zidane, Garnet, Steiner etc)! :D

Ohhhh snap, I'd love for any Zero Escape character. Any of them. Ever. Akane, Tenmyouji, Luna or Diana would be my first choices, but everyone is cool. Sig's girlfriend Diana is basically a canon OC until next summer so I could fill anyone in, but it wouldn't be much other than straight up wish fulfillment so don't worry too much about her xD

For Peggy, I'd love anyone from Agent Carter or First Avenger. Literally anyone. Hell, anyone from MCU who'd be familiar with her. And my kingdom if you bring me a Panem AU Steve or Panem AUs of anyone else from the previously disclosed sources. (Although I should note that any Panem AU Steve would be a fake of some sort, since he's been pretty darn dead for a while.)

For Aang, anyone. Anyone from AtLA or LoK. Anyone. I will go on my hands and knees. Canon characters, canon OCs (like if you want to play an Air Nomad), whatever. Give me my Avatar peeps.

For Sandy: Actually if at all possible I'd love an Effie Trinket. Either the one she knew before or a figment version that she can take some comfort in.

Spider-man would also be a nice visitor, or any other spider related heroes.

For Harley : Last time we had visitors Ivy came for a visit and Harley got to get some baggage taken care of. Then Ivy was hauled off and died. This time I'd love for any of Harley's Arkham Alumni, Catwoman, Riddler, even another Ivy. Or perhaps one of Gotham's finest can drop in for a chat. She'd love to see any of the Bat family.

Actually I would do terrible terrible things for a Holly Robinson. The two of them actually had a big adventure together saving the multiverse. It might be fun to reunite them.

Ruffnut: Her brother is an obvious get, but any other Viking from Berk would be great!

I'd love for people to bring Game of Thrones characters! I'd be more than happy with anyone at all, but I would be especially overjoyed for characters that Arya hates - if anyone has a Joffrey muse they want to throw into this event, I will literally be the happiest person ever. I'd also love a Sandor for her, and of course any of the Starks.

For Éowyn, I'd love to bring in anyone she knows from LotR, especially people from Gondor and Rohan. I think I might have a Faramir already, but obviously he's my number one pick because HUSBANDO. I would also love Éomer, Théoden, etc... her family, basically. And if anyone in the LotR cast we lost this Arena wants to reprise briefly, I would be 101% down. Oh, and Merry! Gots to have a Merry!

Alain doesn't... actually have many contemporary castmates. I'd kill for a Bert, and a Susan could be cool, but honestly, all the characters who spring to mind are more likely to be for Roland's sake than his hashtag sidekickproblems

And Merlyn... dude, do you know how gleeful I would be to have even temporary castmates for Merlyn? I would be especially gleeful over the Wart/Arthur, Madame Mim, Sir Ector, or Archimedes oh my god someone NPC me the grumpy bastard owl Merlyn misses him.
