Hey all! I'm Ammy, who some of you might remember from my previous ventures as Dr. Jonathan Crane and Irving Adenauer at ryansgulch or Antonov at sanctums. After being ruthlessly enabled (I'm looking at you, conifer) I'm trying my hand here with a setting-native OC, Quintus Falxvale.

Quintus is a Peacekeeper with about a decade's experience in policing the districts. He's recently been hired on to manage security at the Training Center, which means making sure those hidden cameras are in order, keeping people from killing each other at inappropriate times, and fielding media requests for information. Basically, if your character is caught making trouble in that area, they might very well end up having a chat with him. :)

He's also been living in the Capitol and doing surveillance-type things for about five years now, so if any of you capitolites might want some handwaved CR, run-ins, etc. with him then do feel free to hit me up.

Personality-wise, he's sarcastic as hell, kind of a workaholic, and has a crappy view of society on account of getting an axe to the face on a previous assignment. You can read more about his backstory here and his permissions can be found here.

It is possibly worth noting that Shepard spends a lot of her downtime between dying in an arena and an arena's crowning maintaining a pillow fort in the main lobby for the express purpose of being a little shit and hiding from cameras and exacting snack food tithes from people who she heckles.

I don't know if you were here when I joined, but welcome! I'm Lexil and I play Linden Lockhearst, a Panem AU of Death Note's L. He's a District 6 Victor from the 63rd Hunger Games, and is currently a Mentor. He's spent the last decade drifting in and out of crippling drug and alcohol dependency and is currently trying to get and stay clean, so he's spending more time in the training center to field for Sponsors (which is difficult because his personality is kind of abrasive, especially during withdrawal.)

I'm totally up for some handwaved CR, since he's been a Mentor for over 10 years and should have some Capitol ties.

Hi! Well, it's my first time in this particular game, so. :)

Oh man. Quintus' brother actually died horribly in the 62nd games, so the PTSD and addictions of some of the Mentors doesn't surprise him at all. While Quintus himself hasn't been around the Training Center all that long yet, he did some other security work in the Capitol and personally had a short period after moving here some five years ago where he tried out the hedonistic party culture and decided he hated it XD Soooo yeah. There's some opportunities for them to have met, if you'd like that.

Yes hello excellent. He sounds amazing and I would love to work something out. Stephen Reagan's been an Escort for D6 for the past seven or eight years, barring a two-year hiatus that ended a year ago. Even if they hadn't met, Quintus would know that Stephen has been very vapid most of his life, that he parties hard, that the Reagans are so rich their money has a salary, and that Stephen has a reputation for wasting his potential. He's the one Reagan without political ambition.

Also, he'd know that last year, Stephen was implicated in a nasty incident. Some Tributes were arrested, and other Tributes tried to break them out, and some ~horrible ungrateful Tributes~ ~tricked~ Stephen into ~accidentally~ helping them. Stephen had a wrist cuff that marked him as a traitor for months. That's the biggest scandal right now.

Stephen's brother, Cyrus, is in President Snow's cabinet. So there's that too.

Haha "tricked" XD If there's any questionableness to the story there I can definitely see Quintus wanting to keep an eye on him. Quintus does have a pretty good nose for bullshit.

Hi! I'm Lampy, and I play Felicity Yoshida (a Panem AU of a foam suit monster badguy from Voltasaur Sentai Kyoryuger), a teenager from District 2 whose Peacekeeper father just got transferred to the Capitol. She writes bad Games fanfic in her spare time! I also play Haruto Soma (wizardplease, from Kamen Rider Wizard).

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Quintus gets up to, and I hope we get the chance to play together!

LET'S SEE. The BIG one was the assassination of high-up Peacekeeper Hisang "Penny" Jiao. She was insane and sadistic and capricious and free to do basically whatever she wanted, and didn't bother to hide any of it. A Tribute assassinated her, and a bunch of other Tributes were rounded up as suspects. They were tortured and given ugly, nasty brands on their faces to mark them as troublemakers. Still more Tributes attempted rescue. Some succeeded, some didn't, but all were rounded up eventually and dumped back into the Arena. The brands are gone now, but they lasted through two whole Arenas.

What happened with Stephen was that he allowed the Initiate and Terezi to crash in Jove Manor, a really ridiculous mansion just outside the Capitol. He had supplies collected and left in an easy-to-find place. His excuse was that he got an official-looking notice from Peacekeepers saying that they were going to requisition supplies from the Reagans and to collect them and leave them in an easy-to-find place. It was plausible enough that he was slapped with a cuff for being stupid, and the whole thing has been treated as more embarrassing than treasonous, but by all means, Quintus, suspect. c: Stephen's toed the line for months since then, but he's been slipping back into being friendly with Tributes.

That's the big political event, though. There was a disease outbreak several months prior, but that was handled.

Oooooh oh man Quintus' feelings would be all over the map on that one--on the one hand, he'd be pissed off that someone in his ranks was apparently stupid enough to garner that much hatred, since their job should be to keep shit from starting, while on the other hand he'd firmly believe the torture and punishment of the Tributes was warranted in order to discourage further troublemaking.

And aww man disease outbreak I'm sad that I missed that XD Infectious disease is one of the things I just scientifically love.

Yes! You should know what Eva Salazar pulled. She was a forty-something-year-old Victor with a hell of a grudge. She seduced a peacekeeper, Wallander (it was complicated) and then kidnapped his daughter so that she could get into the Capitol grid and cause a blackout that lasted....two hours? I think? Anyway, it was preceded by a broadcast urging the listeners to take revenge on the Capitol and Capitolites while the surveillance was down and everything was chaos. Order was restored, but it wasn't pretty.

Lastly, I mentioned the disease plot. When District 3 heard that people from the Capitol were coming down with illnesses like tuberculosis and typhoid, they closed their borders. The Capitol wasn't pleased, so District 3 got firebombed. It's been wiped out.

That is actually super interesting because with that in mind, it makes perfect sense that the powers-that-be would want to hire in someone like Quintus to a major security position--he's a paranoid single dude who is barely in touch with his family. XD He'd probably be disgusted at that entire situation.
