So we've had a few questions about how credits/sponsorship works.

Everything is laid out in detail here, but to a quick and dirty run down:

Sponsorship it's self is handwaved, or acted out between a player and sponsor however they would like, if both are PCs. If anyone abuses the systems mod will step in, but we're small enough that we feel comfortable letting you guys handle the details of it, and that you will stay in what's logical and IC for your characters.

Credits are sorta the OOC sponsorship, a way to effect your chance in the games by your actual actions. If you get enough credits, you have the chance to save other people, or yourself in certain situations. You can step in to save someone else during a death roll. OR you can buy your own way out of a random mod death (AKA you are doing a swimming log and all the sudden a mod is like "And Jaws just attacked you. WHAT NOW.")

Also I am SO sorry I have not gotten back to you with your credits yet. I will be doing that this weekend. This week has just been insane.

If a character has a lot of credits, how plausible is it that they could use some and still be able to buy someone out of a death roll?

Is it assumed you won't starve/dehydrate to death, as long as you have some credits?

Or do you have to make a post now and then about your character eating/drinking?

I know 100 says its in theory enough to survive, but Arena 3 seems rather sunny with little to drink.

Generally you will only be able to save your self or someone else once. Those are the only two things you would be using them for. Someone who goes super above and beyond everyone else on activity MIGHT be able to save two lives in one arena, but they would be having to e exceptionable active because the average activity is taken into account. So if everyone is averaging 300 credits an arena, the prices are going to start higher than if the average is 100 credits.

So say you have 100 credits. In week 1 if a shark eats you we might be like "Hey, it's going to be 75 credits if you want this shark nom attempt to fail."

In week 5 however, it's gonna be more like 200 credits.

And all of that would be handled OOC. IC it would just be a shark attack that succeeded or failed to kill your character, depending on how many credits you have.

Pretty much the bare minimum of credits...if you don't make it it is probably because you've idled out.

We're leaving things like playing out starving, dehydrating, etc to you guys to use for plot fodder. If you need help with any of it, it's there and we'll always help plot things, but we kill off enough of you anyway :3

I was thinking about getting Eliot a knife, a water filter, and possibly a rope but I want to keep enough credits for him to buy one of the girls out of a death roll. Hence the question.

Well the knife, water filter and rope wouldn't effect your credits. All credits are used for is buying people out of death. They are an OOC system, and sponsorship is IC.

I would say that is a lot for sponsors to buy one person though, especially with 3 tributes to take care of. I would say the rope/water filter OR the knife, and early in the game.

So the credits are mostly for buying one's way out of death, and that weapons/food/medicine/etc. offered by sponsors are technically handwaved?
