Arena Update.

This arena has thus far, felt very much like watching an extreme sort of slumber party; kids in their pajamas slinking down hallways, breaking things and poking their noses in places they don't belong. Thankfully most slumber parties are several degrees less bloody in popular practice, and seldom take place in museums, but it sure has caused a rush order on luxury pajamas!

Creative use of the exhibits is an at-home favourite.

Creative use of your fellow tributes is a favourite of everyone.

The lack of wilderness, or any outdoor exposure at all in the video feeds makes hits arena seem particularly close to home. Familiar locations that the audience at home can relate to really makes them feel like they're a part of this experience with you!

Some are rooting for you.

Some would like to see you suffer.

In the end, all but one of you will fail.

Sorry for the delay on this guys, the weekend completely got away from me! Just a reminder though that Death Rolls from here on out will be on Fridays, starting on January 24th! Also, Death Rolls are going to be the Arena's weekly source of information, and the Capitol is about to get it's own special treat for all it's special tidbits; it's very own radio talk show, with esteemed radio personality, Cecil Palmer! We're very excited to tune in.

DEATH BUYOUT FOR KARKAT VANTAS

Buying Karkat Vantas out from death this week! Terezi and Susannah are going halfsies on it (50 each), leaving Susannah with 140 points.

YEAH. Basically R will be spending week 1 trying to adjust to hunger and sleeping positions. Basically he'll be the kind of Tribute you'd want to keep alive just to take advantage of his fail.

I think I'm looking so far at threads with:
- Perry Kelvin - having to team up with him?
- Howard - trying to teem up with him and showing Howard sometimes a zombie is better than a human?
- Eponine - R has a donut and he's ready to naively hand it over to her like a tribute
- Julie - maybe before end of the week before he runs into Perry? She could probably try to show him some survival stuff or like...general tips. D:
- Kili - gem room with R?
- Pruna - maybe R could get his sponsor gift for helping Eponine, he could fail to get it back from her. Basically rough up R a bit despite him being like way bigger than her D:

Overall that's probably it for threads, I'm open to more for Week 1 if you don't mind backtagging.

I haven't threaded it out yet but Ian C is dying close to the start of the arena - so I think that means he needs to go on Friday's death list.

SO KARKAT HAS BEEN SAVED FROM AN UNTIMELY DEATH, YAY? OTOH, one of his arms is in a sling and a wee bit useless since shoulder stabs are a nasty business.

He's with Terezi now, since she rescued his nubby ass, and they will probably end up messing with masks at some point.

Also on the cards this week or the next is reuniting with Cuthbert.

ALSO he has finally got a fucking sickle thank you culture displays and will be hoping to cut someone up with his good hand because he can finally fight with his chosen weapon in an arena, he is so happy you guys.

So anyone want to do anything? I am open as heck.

Hey. I asked this on the first arena post but it might have been too late. Any chance that since this is a museum (and museums try to be handicapped-friendly) if there's a folding wheelchair hiding somewhere in a closet or behind a desk or something?

This is really for the Cornucopia post, but the stairway doors. Eliot knows how to pick locks. He's not as much of an expert as, say, Parker was but he's competent. What's the chance that he'd succeed in picking one?

Also, if I counted right, there should still be one sleeping bag unclaimed. Would Eliot be able to go back and grab it along with the explosives from the pedestals?

Using Willow's credits to get her a crowbar, a flashlight, a fire starting kit, a spool of wire, and a map. She has the newbie 100 credits, and all that totals 75, so she has 25 left.

Susannah | The Dark Tower

Susannah is currently with Cuthbert. They are Gunslinger buddies and excite about the bullets because that means there might be guns. They are really, really good with guns.

She may have stolen some chakrams from the ancient weapons exhibit at some point because they're the next best thing to orizas. Anyway, I'm open to friendly and unfriendly encounters with her.

(Luckily she did meet up with Bert or she'd have been in a very bad place after seeing Harley die and then you'd all have to deal with her alternate personalty slash evil twin.)

Kain Highwind | Final Fantasy IV / Dissidia 012

Kain was injured in the cornucopia, and will just be managing to hang on this week. He's definitely not at ease in the very confined setting, but is doing what he can to get by... probably not taking it as easy as he should, though the kit should help... somewhat.

He also made a desperate run on the weapons display for a spear, so he'll have that in the way of defense... no armor yet, though. Yet to do anything with any masks, but I'm still up for the possibility.

I'd definitely be up for anything out there, whether teaming up or otherwise! Getting a rivalry going or something would be good too.

Until the doors to the stairwells are effectively picked/torn open/what have you or he runs out of food - whichever comes first, Wyatt's going to be hanging out on the third floor because fuck that elevator noise (literally). He's raided the cafeteria of a handful of pastries and all the uncooked pasta and cans of coffee grounds that his bag can hold, and ripped a couple of the manageable bones from the fossil displays for weapons/tools.

Tentatively - unless the Mods say there are none - he's holed himself up in the men's bathroom. Let's say off the volcano display. (One exit, no windows... it makes up for it's proximity to the tar and lava not trusting that gamemakers' sign, no sir for the time being.)

I figure he'll be bumping into Howard/Ellie/Willow at some point, but other that, I'm totally open!

Don't forget District 11 tributes, Wesker is available for your purchasing needs - given that he thinks you've earned it. Especially you, Joan. Also, he will forever be continuing his incentive program for non-11 tributes. I.E., do something he likes and you'll be rewarded. Right now that boils down to if your character tangles with Aunamee and gets a couple of good licks in, he'll send them something with a note about trying again.

I was thinking Wyatt might be at least temporarily camping in a bathroom on the third floor. Is that okay? There wasn't any mention of them in the arena write-up, but real museums have them sooo....
