THE CAPITOL

The weather has been good lately, and the fruit shortage has been resolved.

In addition, certain mentors have been lead off by men in discreet black suits. Asking about them will only get you the response they were pulled for "Special" training.

In addition to Peeta Mellark, Holly Sheer, and a mentor from 8, Katniss Everdeen has also vanished. Effie is having a minor breakdown.

The good thing about this is that Eliot will probably really respond to Ariadne looking out for Momoko like that. It'll give Team Crime something to bond over.

Oh good! \o/ So maybe we can have a log after Lottie's death where they bond more. This will be good. Maybe sort out if they need anything from sponsors too. I think they might be getting low on water.

I know they'll need something for Momoko's throat. Eliot needs to bandage his wrist but he'll probably just tear a piece of his shirt off for that. Yeah, they'll be getting low on water not long after with the amount of time they've just spent in the hot sun and then fighting on top of it. I guess that means they'll be heaving the wild dog packs by those deep, water-filled cracks in the ground. Good thing they got those mines! They need to make themselves some spears with the rubble laying around. That way, they'll be able to get some meat out of the excursion as well.

Yes, good. They can probably plot that IC in the log, and we can sort out using those AC credits to get Momoko something, and maybe some water. I figure we've got enough between the three of us for that, yeah?

Yes to the IC plotting. We should have plenty of AC credits between them. Eliot has 100, since he's new. I don't know quite what you and Momoko have. We should probably OOC plot what they're gonna get, though. Like, should they get some kind of Capitol medicine or simply some ingredients that they can't find in the Arena to make her some lesser medicine?

Haven't looked through them for this bout, but I know Aria had 107 from the last round, and she should have...roughly 50+ already, just from meeting Eliot and Momoko. Probably closer to 75, but from what I just read, the 107 are what she'd use this Arena. Also, Momoko is (as far as I know?) a new Tribute, so she has 100, too.

Did we wanna figure it out here? I'm not totally sure what they can get from the Capitol, but I imagine a water purifier would come in handy. Also depends on what happened to Momoko's throat, which I must have missed.

So, if they pool together they should have around 307. That's a really good number to work with :)

I hadn't thought of a water purified. I was more thinking Eliot might just boil it in one of the cans from the Cornucopia once they eat some of the food. It's a good idea, though. Less likely to attract attention.

As for Momoko's throat, the plan was to have Tate strangle her pretty badly so she wouldn't be able to talk for a bit. Maybe someone should send them a white board and a marker? :P

I saw someone else get one, and I thought it might be useful. That way, they don't have to worry about smoke drawing attention to them. But they've probably been doing it that way till now, making sure to only do it once a day or something.

Oooh. Bwahaha. White board might be super useful. Or they can find a stick and write in the dirt! I think figuring out if the Capitol can hook them up with a medicine for that would be great.

Post-Cornucopia IC plotting sounds great! Momoko's main strategy has been working her cuteness/vulnerableness for the sponsors so ICly sponsor stuff should work fine. As for the writing, I've checked with FAQ (haven't gotten a response yet) about whether anyone who doesn't know Japanese would be able to read her writing. I think it would be hilarious if she couldn't communicate at all while her voice is gone (unless someone in the arena knows Japanese. XD).

Well, it hasn't been all that long yet... But, yeah, the smoke or the light from the fire would be a problem, so they'll probably want a purifier or at least a basic filter.

I think writing in the ground with would fit the setting more. And be a better use of credits. We know the Capitol can send them that medicine, the question is if they'd want to. How much would they have invested in Momoko? And would they rather see if one of the team has the know how to adapt something for the purpose? The medicine would restore her voice faster. On the other hand, it would be more expensive and she can, theoretically, function without her voice for a bit. Of course, we need Amber online to really decide this...

Can you think of anything else they might need?

We'll have to sort how we're going to get the medicine, but if Momoko's been super cute as she is, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. We can hit up the mods for that too. \o (After the weekend, when they're back and stuff.)

Eliot might know a little. It hasn't come up in his canon, but it would fit him. But what he knows would be limited by what he would've picked up on guests or special ops missions.

I think three days IC to every one OOC was how it worked out? Maybe possibly? But Ariadne definitely would have tried to hoard as much of her initial can as she possibly could have.

More food, possibly. But they can always hunt. And I assume, at this point, they've fashioned some kind of minor weapon out of some of the scrap they've found.

How good would Ariadne be at hunting by this point? Speaking of which, some rope would be useful, for making weapons and trapping small animals.

Oh yes, absolutely none of the words useful for communicating with a Japanese Lolita girl. Although actually considering the arena there might be some useful words in his kanji vocab for the situation.

With the strangling and then the killing of Donatello (which Momoko will feel guilty about) and then Lottie...I think at some point Momoko's gonna be out looking for Tate's blood. XD That'll be...interesting.

Clearly they've devised a way to use Momoko's cuteness as a ploy. And then Ariadne will be all mothering, and Eliot can be like protective big brother and the Capitol will be all over themselves.

I am imagining this like the books, where Ariadne and Momoko scheme up a scenario and act it out for the cameras and Eliot is obliviously Peet-esque, thinking they're sincere.

Or he catches on quick and suddenly understands it's another grifting job. XD
