Inside The Arena.

The rains seem to come a little harder every day. Last a little longer. Though temperatures throughout the arena tend to average in the 80s, some of the more recent rains have dropped the temperature so drastically we've been able to see the tributes' breath! And would you look at that?! The most recent high tide appears to have officially flooded the area surrounding the fountain that has had miraculous healing effects on anyone who has drank from it.

The next tide that comes in will submerge the fountain area entirely, but we are more interested in what appears to be thick black smoke venting into the air in that area. Rest assured this is no ordinary smoke viewers, but a cloud of nano machines. Programmed to seek out any and all active tributes inside the arena, anyone who breathes in these vapors will feel the effects almost instantly.



Neural pain inhibitors will drastically limit or completely extinguish the sensation of pain in tributes. The more vapor you breathe in, the longer the effects last. Vapors are most dense in the area surrounding the epicenter, dissipating the further away from the source you get. Effects can last anywhere from 24 to 78 hours depending on dosage and exposure. Experts estimate a time frame of 36 hours before the smoke will have spread island wide.

Life In The Capitol.

Festive feasts abound throughout the city this coming week. After all, why should celebrations be limited to only one day?! Stylists have been booked for weeks, and designers are working their poor fingers to the bone trying to make sure everyone looks their best.

Make sure that you've discussed all your options with your personal caterer, I hear they have had a shortage of lobster from District 4 these past few weeks and NO ONE wants to have to wait in line at the market for.. well, anything, of course.

We know that a lot of you are participating in NaNo this month, and the holiday season is... pretty much here at this point, and in turn that has resulted in a lot of hiatus. We just ask that you continue to be courteous and keep both the mod team and your fellow players up to date about it! :) With that in mind, we would like to remind everyone to make sure you have poked around the most recent mid-arena activity check post! You don't have to tally up your credits or anything, we just want to make sure we're all on the same page. Just let us know you're with us!

And I really hate to jump into passive aggressive mode with this message, but I am pretty sure I am still missing some tribute character information from a couple of you. If your tribute character hasn't been officially killed off yet (there is a list of who has died at the top of each death roll every week) and if they aren't listed on the list of remaining tributes in the thread below (it's in alphabetical order by first name) that means I DO NOT have your information! Please please please make sure you have replied with all the relevant information to the taken character page, as soon as possible. That is where I pull all your characters' final scores and districts and head shots from... and my numbers just aren't adding up to what they should be and I don't want to be leaving people out! :)

This time, when you press the button you hear a gentle hiss. All around you there is an aroma you cannot quite place. It's a familiar earthy smell like fallen leaves and old flowers and nutmeg. A warm almost-pleasant smell but there's a sourness to it.

Congratulations. You and the surrounding area have just been sprayed with raptor pheromones.

From now until you die, you will be followed by several raptors. Sometimes they may approach you, sometimes they may just trail you in their curiosity.

Since he's due to hook up with Joan and she's not due to die, there's also a potential group thing in this in maybe him trying to protect her or something or dramatic dying in her arms.

Any takers? I'd like this to be nice and dramatic since it's his first arena death so I wanna see what possibilities there are for who and how. Toss 'em at me!

Harley and Orc are still around, Harley is hunting people for fun and Orc is a rage monster right now...and depending on how soon and how Howard dies he may continue to be rage filled all week...or he may fall into crushing depression.

But since Joan knows them both the option is there.

So all my characters are dying. I'm working out what Howard's doing, but Venus and Eva both need killers.

Since this is possibly my only chance to kill and revive Eva, I would love for her to go out in a serious, dramatic prosey thread. She's kind of attacking people at random in the Arena, so self-defense works.

I'm a bit more open to all different playing styles with Venus this week, so come at me! She's getting a bit desperate and will attack anyone who looks like they have food.

Azula: Is happy to be home but furious that she didn't kill as many people as she did last time. She'll be indulging in all the best the Capitol has to offer.

Sandy: Is laying low after her death in the arena. She's going to start training with Mindy and is always wandering around sticking her nose into things?

It's his first week in the Capitol! Isn't that exciting? --well, technically he'd have been in the Capitol a few days as of today and I'll get a general open log up for those confusing first moments.

But let's be real, the guy's straight from the early 1950s. He's going to be confused for a hella long time, especially considering he'll be a stubborn ass for... a while? Idk, until someone talks enough sense into him. Actually I lied, he can be a stubborn ass for a long time and talking sense into him will have to be a regular thing.

That said, first order of business will be attempting to escape. What I mean here is, he'll be in a bit of a shock after finding out he's alive again and he'll stroll out into the city... and just kind of keep walking until he inevitably gets escorted back. It'll be his excuse for going sightseeing. Second order of business is to get angry at everything and everyone. He'll be especially angry about the weather.

There's a lot of things for him to do in the Capitol so I'm really looking forward to putting him there, and for the sake of plotting I'll say 'anything and everything!' because Hawkeye can go from a drunk and brooding mess to literally painting the town polka dot in a heartbeat. Hit me up if you want anything specific with him and I'm always looking for new CR!
