Marius doesn't really care if he dies, BUT he will be trying to protect people! So if anyone wants to be protected by a suicidal 19th century French lawyer? Ladies and kids get plus points, but he'll basically ally with anyone he thinks doesn't deserve to be a part of the games and he will fight so that they could win. It doesn't even matter if your character is actually an ass and is just a really good actor; Marius is dumb like that lol.

He'll be sharing half of any food and drink he owns and shooting off dangerous animals with his awesome crossbow. :3
